Equipment mode is the general embodiment about equipment design mode, production mode, use mode and the relations between them. Equipment mode is changing with the technology and demand.In the traditional equipment architecture, equipments always present the invariable characteristics to the user once after deployed the function and configuration. The architecture consequentially brings the result that equipment, part and function have the rigid coupling and can't been separated each other. This rigid coupling limits the application flexibility and redeployment for the function and configuration of existing equipments. Under the traditional equipment structure, the fixity of the deployment function and configuration depends on the equipment's hardware, and the function is one-to-one correspondence hardware part. Stacking in function hardware and unchanging function with time are the remarkable characters of the traditional equipment architecture.With the development and application of information and network technology enormously, some new requirements have appeared such as diversification of function, flexibility of mode, using of network and economization of service for electronic equipments. Naturally, it makes people rethink the traditional equipment mode introspectively. Make One mode, which is proposed in the paper, is just the new idea about electronic information equipment or product. It is also the integrated innovation on recent equipment thinkings and technologies relatively.Make One mode may achieve the separation between equipment hardware and function, and remain hardware become the operating platform (say container) for the software function components.The components can be reloaded in the container while different components have different functions when they are executed in the container. This technology can overcome the weaknesses of traditional mode. With the help of the container, function and software component, Make One mode equipment will have the ability to add, subtract and renew functions. The idea of Make One mode also points out a research direction of electronic information equipment in the future.Make One mode architecture, Make One container model and software component model should be the core contents to be researched theoretically. Make One mode is a new research field which relates to multi-subject. As an initiatory work, the paper has discussed the background and value of Make One mode, software component model, container model and matching method between the component and container etc. Make One mode has the huge value potential and value-added service opportunity. The value potential comes directly from five facets including non-redundancy cost benefit,equipment integration benefit, time extending benefit, function extending benefit and new industry benefit which differ with the traditional equipment mode. Also, much other value potentials are correlated with Make One mode's indirect and unconventional features. New industry mode will be brought by Make One mode about software component design, component development and component service.Make One component is core concept in Make One theory. Based on the research of general software component model, a uniformed component model and attribute description model are proposed for Make One component. MOCDM(Make One Components Description Model), xMOCDL (Make One Components Description Language based on XML) are defined tentatively. MOCGD (Make One Components General Description), MOCFD (Make One Components Facet Description) and MOCID (Make One Components Interface Description) are discussed also.Make One component container is the infrastructure of Make One mode equipment. The container model proposed in the paper has two resource deployment settings which are BIOS/RTOS deployment (hardware deployment) and application deployment (software deployment). This design makes Make One equipment has the supporting capacity facing to different fields and different applications. The connection between Make One equipment and Make One component is built by Make One application framework. The foundation supporting Make One component container is builded after the discussion for technology of embedded system.The component matching is a key factor of Make One mode. A semantic engine based on ontology is proposed, which can implement semantic mapping between user query information by NL (Natural Language) expressing and the component or Web service information which has existed within the web circumstance. By using the concept of semantic similarity, the method of interface specification matching is discussed. Based on extension point mechanism of Make One application framework, the formalization and algorithm of R-S interface specification matching is also studied.At last, a prototype of an electric universal interface based on class-interface is designed to support Make One mode research work.
