IPv6 based mobile communication is more and more attended to nowadays, due to the widening use of IPv6, as well as the inosculation of Internet and mobile communications. As an efficient supplementation to IPv6, mobile IPv6 provides good solutions to node's mobility and communicating performance guarantee under Internet. It has become a hot research field. But this protocol is still primary and immature, making some of the crucial mobile IPv6 related technologies deficient. If these problems are not well solved in time, commercialization and development of mobile IPv6 will be seriously suppressed.This paper makes a systematic and intensive analysis to mobile IPv6 protocol. It proposes a general mobility management frame and a system structure to mobile IPv6. Based on these, mobile IPv6 related handover technology, QoS technology, network mobility technology and mobile security technology are well covered and intensively discussed in this paper, including:(1) Tree-style mobility management structure based on domainMobile IPv6's macro mobility management mechanism will encounter communication efficiency, network resource occupation and such problems, when nodes transfer among areas. Focused on HMIPv6, this paper analyses some micro mobile management protocols. It improves HMIPv6 and proposes a model for optimized mobile IPv6. Based on MAP, it associates the concepts of domain and tree, proposing a tree-style mobility management structure based on domain, which is designed to be flexible and stretchable.(2) Mobile IPv6 seamless and real-time handover policyMore and more real-time network applications require much on mobile IPv6 handover performance and QoS.
