Optical transmission system's capacity is enlarged with the successful development and application of WDM, which puts much pressure upon the switching system. In order to solve the problem of electronic bottleneck, photonics technology is adopted by using OADM and OXC in nodes. Routing and Wavelength Assignment(RWA) become the hotspot of research for logically administration and efficiently utilization on the network resources after that Optical exchange technology eases the exchanging pressure of the nodes. Two works have been studied in this thesis, one is programmable OADM based on FBG, other is routing algorithms. The following is the main content:1. Several importance theoretical methods for analyzing the characteristics of fiber grating are discussed. The spectra characteristics, dispersion and time delay of the fiber gragg grating are analyzed and simulated with couple-mode theory.2. Summarizing the development status , structure of programmable OADM. Programmable OADM's future application is prospected after analysis to the merits and shortcomings of several POADM schemes considered with the typical products.3. Development of wavelength automatic tuning system. The system is developed by technology of IEEE488. It's hardware consists of FBG's optical circuit and PZT's programmable control voltage circuit. Software includes communication of OSA and computer, communication of computer and PZT's programmable control module, interface of human and machine, process of data. Tested by BBS, the system can tune wavelength quickly, tuning range from 0nm to 1.32nm, maximal voltage is 200v.4. Development of POADM based FBG. Using the wavelength automatic system discussed above, one kind of POADM can be easily constructed. Tested by Four-wavelength laser, its add/drop wavelengths are 1550.02nm, 1550.82nm, 1551.62nm, 1552.42nm, these wavelengths space 0.8nm. tuning speed can reaches about 1s , isolation between disjoint channels is 21.5dB. Monitor and control can be easily executed from the system interface.5. Study of routing and wavelength assignment. Compareing some alorithms'performance, One new routing algorithms is described in this thesis ,which synthetically considers the effect of hops, network loads and link loads. The...
