With the development of Internet and multimedia techniques, the dissemination of digital media is more and more fast. At the same time, piracy and malice tamper become more and more rampant due to the easy modification, replication and redistribution of creative works in digital form. Copyright protection and content authentication are gradually important.The traditional techniques of copyright protection and content authentication are cryptology technique and digital signature technique. The cryptology technique encrypts the plain content to the cryptograph for protecting the copyright. Digital signature technique calculates the message digest of the content using hash function and transfers it attaching the content to realize the authentication of content authenticity and integrality. It is advantage to protect traditional data using cryptology and digital signature technique, but for digital media, it has a lot of shortages , and these shortages can be overcome to use digital watermarking technology.Digital watermarking is a new effective technology to resolve the problem of multimedia copyright protection and content authentication in recent years. The basic idea of digital watermarking is taking advantage of the redundancy in multimedia such as image,audio and video, and embedding the secret information into them. The secret information is the watermarking. The watermarking can be the copyright marking, the customer sequence number or the related information of the product. The embedded watermarking have no influence on the normal usage of the product and the watermarking can be extracted to certificate copyright, judge malice tamper and localize tamper position when need.This thesis is to research the image copyright protection and content authentication.
