High power microwave (HPM) is a rising subject. HPM device can be used in such as advanced communications and high power microwave weapon (HPMW). A wide-band gyro-TWT amplifier and transit-time effect oscillator with hole on foils were studied, the devices were designed based on particle simulation. In chapter I, a rectangular disk-loaded wave-guide is used in gyro-TWT amplifier. The gain and the bandwidth are derived, the effects of electron beam current, input power and guiding magnetic field is numerically calculated. In order to increase the band-width, a gyro-TWT with decreased periodic length and tapered guiding magnetic field and height of disk is presented. It can generate an output power of 88 kW and bandwidth is 24% through 100kW with 20% bandwidth. In chapter II, repeatedly operating transit-time effect oscillators (TTO) with holes on foils are presented. The equilibrium and stability properties of foil-focused electron beam in terms of its envelope equation, as a result, the relation of the parameters of the electron beam propagated with the distance between two foils is obtained. The collector is designed to eliminate the secondary electrons back to the distill cavity and decrease partial ultra temperature in anode. The transmission of electron beam through foil with hole is simulated. Because of hole on foils, only small part of electron beam hitted on the foils, the device can be operated repeatedly. In this section, a L-band split-cavity with 50MW through 950MW, C-band and X-band TTO with 1GW output is designed.
