Traditional computer graphics focuses on geometry models,therefore,it is called geometry-based computer graphics. With the development of this subject,some new fields come into being,image-based computer graphics is the current hot issue,which focuses on image models. Both of these two technologies have some advantages and disadvantages. So it is a significant subject how to combine them and learn from other's strong points to offset one's weakness. Based on this background,the technology geometry- and image-based hybrid modeling and rendering(GIBHMR)is put forward,which has been emphasized by international academe at the present time.This dissertation has studied some key technologies in the field of GIBHMR.First,this dissertation gives a geometrical projection-based 3D Warp algorithm,which has proved the feasibility to bring the studying method of IBR into geometry models-based modeling and rendering. It is an all-purpose algorithm,which can perform coordinate warping under different projection for scene and object models,and,this algorithm can perform color warping according to lighting characteristics.Second,this dissertation gives an algorithm of object-based fast warping. This algorithm holds a pipeline structure,it can reduce the time complexity of rendering object model greatly and take advantages of the general graphics hardware effectively.Third,this dissertation discusses modeling technology,and then gives a method of adaptive image modeling for geometry models. Overcoming some faults of IBR,this method can realize the exact image filling and keep better model's integrity and lower redundancy.At last,in order to reduce the time cost during modeling,this dissertation puts forward a method of visual effect-based model simplification,which mainly discusses the simplification according to viewpoints,image meshes,normal and texture mapping. This method can reserve better image quality and larger ratio of model simplification.
