Short-data transferring via LEO micro-satellite communication systems see a good future in development of national economic and defense, because of many advantages it takes, e.g. small-size terminal, comparatively low cost and so on. But the virtues it owns also bring new challenges to the system designer, one of them is how to improve the system performance in physical layer under multi-dimensional constraints required by those virtues. The present paper focus on carrier synchronization, which put a great effect on system performance, especially under the condition of low signal noise ratio and great Doppler frequency shift. In the paper related methods to carrier synchronization in LEO system is summarized with a systematic view, and analyzed to give out a design guide, under which a new method is adopted to improve the performance of carrier synchronization for LEO micro- satellite system. Most of the work in the paper is related to design of CX- 1 LEO micro-satellite communication system, which is a vital project supported by CAS (Chinese Academic of Science).
