The engineering realization of real-time moving target detection and imaging(MTD/MTI) processor for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is discussed in thisdissertation. All the works are connected with the existing engineering program ofSynthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and the digita1 imaging processor of Institute ofElectronics. The main content includes (l) the study of real-time MTD/TIprocessor;(2) the study of real-time MTD algorithms;(3) the desig of signal sourcefor real-time MTD;(4) the discussion of multi-antenna detection.After summarized the development of SAN and the representative MTDmethods, the studies of real-time MTD/MTI processor are developed according tothe engineering program of Institute of Electronics. The main frame of an achievableapproach based on frequency detection method is put forward and the technicalparameters of its components are quantified. The key techniques of frequencydetection method are discussed in detail. A new method for radial velocityestimation based on Doppler center discriminator and center frequency estimation isproposed to improve the estimation of frequency, and it is verified by means ofsimulation. After theoretically analyzed and simulation, the principles for RDMparameter-choice are proposed. The feasibility of real-time moving target detectionusing RDM is also analyzed. According to the requirement of engineering project ofairborne SAN an approach of signal source is put forward, a signal source system isbuilt, and moving targets are simulated. The case of multi-antenna is analyzed due tothe future direction of MTD and the algorithm and the effect of noise aretheoretically analyzed and simulated.Such works, especially the main parameter-choice and the motion paramoterestimatior,as well as the solution of some technical questions in system-realization,are connected with the engineering project of Institute of Electronics, and goodprogress is achieved.
