Excimer is one form of aggregates, which consists widely in organic and inor-ganic materials. Excimer is formed by two or more organic (or inorganic) moleculecomponents, which is of transient luminescent centre. The component is called monomer.The ?uorescence spectrum in position, shape and intensity can be changed markedlywhen excimer formation. The excimer in excited state is stable, well it can be asso-ciated in ground state. Invention of inorganic excimer laser is utilized the character-isation of excimer, in which the working media is rear gas in high pressure or reargas halids. The excimer laser demands strict manufacturing technique, high purityof working gas and powerful pump energy. This type of laser is widely used in lab,medical care and and material processing.The process of excimer formation is considered as a physical procedure. Thelifetime of excimer in ground state is in several picoseconds before its dissociationand return ground state of monomer. The excimer is considered as a ideal material ofgain media for its ease to achieve population inversion. In theory, the organic excimeralso can be used as laser gain media to observe stimulated radiation, which is predictedby F. P. Scha¨fer.The choice of materials that can be form excimer and resonator design of laserare two main difficulties of development of organic excimer laser:1. Loss of light is great. Too many ways of light loss is the key obstacle to devel-opment of organic excimer laser, which is affect the luminescence efficiency ofexcimer significantly. In conclusion, an organic excimer laser with large stimu-lated emission cross-section is necessary. 2. The structure of laser is an important factor to observe organic excimer lasing.The resonator is principal part of laser, which provide oscillation and amplifica-tion of lightwave emitted by gain media. This should design according with theproperties of organic excimer.The main contents of this dissertation:1. Through experiments, it is found that Pyrene is a good candidate material thatcan be utilized as organic emcimer gain media. The ?uorescence quantum effi-ciency of this material is up to 75%.2. Microcavity structure is designed considering the luminescence features of or-ganic excimer. A lot of parameters of organic excimer laser had been achievedfor the first time. And the energy diagram of Pyrene is presented.3. A series of organic light-emitting devices of microcavity is fabricated with or-ganic rear earth ligand compound, and demonstrated that the color purity canbe improved by microcavity, and the emission color can be varied by differentstructure of microcavity.4. The OLED that emitted at near ultra-violet region is achieved with TPD/TPBi,the quantum efficiency of device is up to 1.2%...
