In modern social life sports play an important role, and the "modern sports"that we are now familiar with actually come from the West, the sport China is currently is a result of Western culture gradually Learned by chinese in modern times. A very interesting phenomenon is that Although contemporary Chinese Sports and Western Sports is very similar in morphology. But China and the West's understanding of them is completely different. Cultural characteristics of the whole and the systemic causes of this phenomenon. Any one of Western culture from its original parent subsystem came to China, change is inevitable. The author sought the Western sports as a starting point to explore the issue of the transplantation of Western culture, and issues related to localization. The purpose of author is hoping to provide a new perspective of studying this issue. Western sports are an integral part of Western culture, the concept of sport in the West and the role of society reflected some of the characteristics of Western culture in all aspects. Some of the main features of Western sports, such as: sports, whether in ancient or modern society play an important role in society; competitive sports are flourishing; The concept of physical and psychological harmony education; Strong religious color in physical values and so on.So taht the problems the modern Chinese people facing is not to introduce a means of keeping fit or entertainment, but an act of cultural transfer, When the western sports began to enter the modern China. The chinese would inevitably encounter various issues in the awareness and understanding during this process. Furthermore, because there are various contradictions and split in western culture itself and this issue wouid lead to Chinese people's awareness and understanding of western sports would be more difficult. The role of sports in ancient Chinese society also influenced perspective of chinese people observing western sports. Sports in ancient China has been in a low social status, competitive sports were not flourishing, Most ancient Chinese intellectuals despised physical activity, some intellectuals who attended sports used a pragmatic attitude. The physical characteristics and attitude towards sports of traditional Chinese intellectuals are not consistent, and this issue is very similar with west. There is the ethos of advocating Wu force in the age before qin dynasty and the ethos of advocating game in tang dynasty. Some intellectuals, for example Yan Yuan ,who was considered a gentile of advocating sport. All of this affected the Chinese view of the perspective of Western Sports. Chinese pepole wou ld Inevitably look for similar things from the Chinese tradition in order to understand western sports when they encoutered them at first, and this situation would inevitably lead to a distortion of understanding of the Western sports, and cause all kinds of issues of knowledging and practicing in sport .After the Opium War, China began to enter Western sports. In a very long period of time, it was seen as a "game" of physical activity and was regarded as the low-level things, this view still exist until today. Traditional intellectuals are the first groups who understood rationally western sports. The deepening national crisis which was began after the Opium War forced the traditional intellectuals to had to give up traditional view of respecting for comity and opposing the use of force, and began to accept the Western sports as a "force" or "weapons" concept. The way of acceptting western sports leaded a one-sided view of understanding western sport. Meanwhile, the view of looking on physical activity in chinese tradition made the traditional intellectuals accept western sport only according to their own understanding. So that the traditional intellectuals advocated Germanic military gymnastics, and trainning strong soldiers is their goal.Early 20th century, "Sports" had been generally accepted by the intelligentsia and upper class under the impetus of thought of Junguomin. As a result, the westen sports began to expand its influence in different regions of China and the all kinds of levels of society. Yan Fu and his introduction of social Darwinism played a leading role during this course. Social Darwinism thought changed the perspective of the Chinese people from trainning qualified soldiers to cultivatting a strong national constitution. In fact, Chinese still believe that the western sport is "Wu", which is an ancient Chinese military means.During the Junguomin period, military gymnastics extended to all levels of society, Involves not only the three governments, intelligentsia, but also business class and the general public. All of views which were advocatting by Germanic gymnastics ,including exercising in order to serve national, to obey orders, had been acceptted and rebuilded by various forces according to their requirement. The result is that the real value of the German Gymnastics had not been understood by chinese people. The large-scale spread of western sport in Junguomin period improved the social status of"sport", greatly changed the chinese traditional view of underestimateting physical exercise . Since then, the history of linking Physically strong and the fate of the nation by Chinese people had begun to develop. In the historical period (1920-1937),chinese people had been gradually recognized the role of sport in Western society. However, the social background of saving the national crisis and the traditional concept of treating the physical activity still plays a decisive role of influencing chinese pepole to treat western sport. An important reason that anglo-American sport prevailed in this period is that chinese had been affected by the result of the First World War. The utilitarian attitude of understanding made chinese people did not understand anglo-American sports culture in the concept of fair play, and distort the Anglo-American concept of individualism in sport. As a result, so many problems had emerged in the field of competitive sports and physical educatiion. Athletic had been gradually incorporated into the the single idea ,"glory for the country". The traditional concept of contempt after physical exercise begun to resuscitate after a short period of being suppressed in Junguomin.Intellectual elite no longer cared about sports afer Wusi movement. The ancient Chinese concept of despising sports had been extended with overt or covert. In this pierod, along with Western sports broadcasting in China and becoming more complex in the field of playing role in society, the groups in different sectors had increased their differences of understanding.Another side which could reflect the understanding how did chinese people treat Western sports is the changes of Chinese traditional sports. Changes of Chinese traditional sports is also the result of force in Chinese social environment Lossing the traditional living space, the traditional physical sports had been forced to accept Western "sport" of its concept and its social status because of the changes of modern society. The mind of saving the national crisis make chinese people only noticed the physiology, education, etc. easier to see the actual effect, and neglected other subjects. In fact, it was arosed by a variety of thought of "Save Guocui" that Chinese people excavated and collated traditional sports. The attitude of various Guocui thought towards Western culture's directly impacted on the way traditional sports to accept western sports. However, unlike other mainstream culture, the traditional sports were difficult to bulid their own cultural content and values which was considered as"metaphysical subject"when they acceptted western sports science, the reason of it is that traditional sports played a role of low status in ancient China for a long period. So that traditional sports only used patriotism as their own values, because they could not really understood the cultural connotation of western sports ,and could not build their own cultural core at the same time.Tow reasons made chinese people distortedly understood western sports. For one thing ,it was the way which chinese pepole treated wetern sports, and tow points linfuenced this issu and distorted the appearance of western sports at the sametime, the first is people's own traditional cultural structure, the second is what did chinese people expect wetern sports to do for saving china. For another, it was a result of chinese social alteration,as a very important environment which western sports exist, the market economy and democratic society had not been established in modern china. These reasons had a direct impact on Chinese sports concept after 1949.
