The Reseach Of Sociospatial Differentiation In Big City Of China

As a special regional system of urban society, urban social space is an outward appearance of the hierarchical structure of urban society at urban spatial scale, and its process of differentiation, actually is the division process of physical environment which impelled by the division process of social economic relation. In different stages of history, due to the changes of social system, economic development, cultural ideology, social psychology and value system, the hierarchical structure system of urban society becomes different, and finally it's reflected as the differentiation of urban spatial structure. On the basis of analyzing the history of urban development and its spatial signatures, this paper studied the formation and evolution of urban social space and the influence factors of differentiation. Taking Changchun as study area, and based on the analysis of its development history and evolvement driving force, the development tendency of Changchun in the future is discussed in this paper. Additionally, an emphasized ecological analysis on urban social factors of Changchun during transformation period is presented to reveal the internal motivation and mode of urban evolvement.This paper could be divided into six parts: the main body is from chapter two to chapter five, while the rest are an exordium and a conclusion.In chapter one, the background and significances of the study are introduced, the ideas, framework and approaches are fixed, and then the study areas, which are 67 streets in the six districts of Changchun, are determined.Based on analyzing some basic concepts, such as urban space, urban social space and the differentiation of urban social space, chapter two presented a summary of theories on social spatial structure in western developed countries and a comment on the studies of urban social space and the differentiation of urban social space at home and abroad. Meanwhile, the advancement of concerning studies are traced and commented.In chapter three, the development courses, modes and driving forces of urban social spatial structure at home and abroad are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis above, this paper concluded that all the influence factors of urban social spatial differentiation are interaction with each other, and included in the unity of social space, at specific time and specific place, under special culture background, the integration of these factors reflect that the city itself is a social regional system which constituted by the interaction and interplay of multi-factors. Therefore, the urban social space will be different as a result of different time and different culture, etc. this provided a theoretical foundation for the study on mechanism of social spatial evolution and regulation of Changchun. On the basis of social investigations and comprehensive analysis, and in the view of the development courses, modes and driving forces, chapter four summed up the driving factors, evolvement forces and modes of urban social spatial structure through analyzing the changes of evolutionary phases and structures, especially in Changchun. Then the evolution trend of social space in Changchun is predicted: the division of society will further deepen the differentiation of urban residential space; the structure of social space will become more complex; and the marginalization of disadvantaged groups and polarization of combination area of city and country will be increasingly apparent.Chapter five presents an empirical study on the social space of Changchun during the transition period. A quantitative analysis of social space in 1990 and 2000 was made by using the data of the fourth and the fifth census. Then the main factors which influenced the social spatial structure were extracted by factor ecological analysis and cluster analysis, and different types of social communities were divided, the structure model of urban social space in Changchun was summarized. From the comparison of social space influenced factors in different periods, a discovery was presented: the social spatial structure of Changchun not only kept the historical succession, but also got some new development; the heterogeneity characteristics of the social spatial structure in Changchun were increasingly apparent, which from the single-core concentric circles in 1990 to multi-cores concentric circles and sectors.Chapter six sums up the theories and demonstrations mentioned above. Six basic conclusions concerning the evolvement of social space in China's big cities were proposed, and meanwhile, some suggestions on how to deepen. the researches on China's urban social space were provide.
