Effect teaching has always been the hotspot in school and educational psychology. The reach of effective teaching in educational psychology arose from relativity between teachers' characteristics and their teaching behavior in 1950s. With the development of cognitive psychology, the researching point of view about effective teaching is transferred from effective teaching behavior to cognitive characteristics of teachers. More thorough with the research of effective teaching, added with expert-novice model, researchers have found that information plays an important part in effective teaching. So the author discussed the following problems: What is the characteristics of expert teacher's knowledge? What role dose expert teacher's knowledge play in their teaching process , especially in scheme and implement. How do they influence the teaching process? The following parts were included in the paper.Chapter I was about the arising of research on teachers' knowledge. The author pointed out the background, conclusion and limitation of the research on effective teaching in different phases. The research on effective teaching started from the description of teachers' characteristics and behaviors. Then teachers' cognitive process was paid more attention to and it was found that teachers' knowledge was very important for effective teaching.Chapter II was the literature summarization of the research on teachers' knowledge. Two trends of research existed: one was the knowledge base of teaching, and the other was the teacher practical knowledge. After analyzing the characteristics, conclusions and methods of the two trends, the author compared them. It was found that both of the trends believed whether the teachers' knowledge existed ,how much the knowledge was and their relation influenced the teaching process. Then the author summed up the research on teaching expertise. It was found that the reason for the difference of teaching behavior in teaching scheme, implement, and evaluation between expert teacher and novice teacher was the teaching expertise.
