The people-oriented philosophy has become the trend of current reform anddevelopment in contemporary society. Following the "students' development-oriented"philosophy, a new comprehensive round of basic education curriculum reform has beenlaunched in the curriculum objective, course content, course structure and so on. It turns outto be an inevitable trend that the contemporary textbook design, the material carrier ofcurriculum reform, is transform from the traditionally "knowledge-centered" notion to the"students' development-oriented "philosophy, i.e. "students-oriented" philosophy. For many years the domestic theoretical research on the textbook design keepsrelatively weak, with some existing research focusing on practical operation. In face of thenew curriculum reform, it turns out to be not only the urgent need for theoretical researchbut the strong call for the curriculum practice that how the textbook design can fullyembody the students' development-oriented philosophy and promote students' activelearning and overall development. In this study, with secondary school chemical textbookdesign given as an example, the inevitable trend towards the students-oriented philosophywas confirmed through analysis and survey about the development trend of chemicaltextbook design in the first place. Then the analysis about the theoretical basis ofstudents-oriented textbook design was laid special stress on. The structure, function andbasic characteristics of students-oriented textbook design were analyzed. Theoretical modeland design strategy were structured. The design strategy of students-oriented chemicaltextbook was dwelled on in combination with the design of chemical standard experimentaltextbook in compulsory education. This dissertation comprises seven parts. The mainreading is as follows.Introduction. First the reasons for this selected topic were explained. It was pointed outthat the textbook design toward the "students-oriented" philosophy turns out to be not onlyan inevitable trend on the new curriculum reform background, but the strong demand ofboth teachers and students' self-development. Meanwhile the course of domestic textbookdesign based on the status quo was analyzed and explained.Chapter I, the Characteristics and Function of Students-oriented Textbook. First, on thebasis of the definition of the general meaning of textbook, five basic characteristicsstudents-oriented textbooks should possess were analyzed. Then, based on the systematicelaboration on the key elements of students-oriented textbook in terms of the contentbuilding and presentation mode of textbooks, the structure of students-oriented textbookwas expatiated on in both macro and micro way. Finally, The nature and function ofstudents-oriented textbook during the teaching progress was discussed. It was stated clearlythat it's the students-oriented textbook's ultimate function to promote students' activelearning and overall development, which triggers and facilitates the "dialogue" betweenteacher-student and student-student.Chapter II, the Rationale of Students-oriented Textbook Design. The main viewpoint ofconstructivism theory, development psychology and STS educational theory was expoundedtogether with its revelation to textbook design, which provides theoretical guidance forstudents-oriented textbook design.Chapter III, the Idea and Strategy of Students-oriented Textbook Design. First, the ideaof students-oriented textbook design was stated and the connotation and approaches of"students' development-oriented" philosophy were defined. Then the model ofstudents-oriented textbook design was constructed which comprises four aspects, namely, the establishment of textbook goal, the selection, organization and presentation of textbookcontent. Finally, the concrete strategies and methods of students-oriented textbook designwere focused on in terms of the presentation of textbook content.Chapter IV, the Chemical Textbook Design Towards the Students-oriented Philosophy. In this part, the rationale of how the textbook design embodies the "students'development-oriented" philosophy was expounded with chemical standard experimentaltextbook design given as an example. First of all, the value of chemistry discipline forstudents' development was expounded in terms of the characteristics and goals of chemistrydiscipline. Then the basic strategy of students-oriented chemical textbook design was laidspecial stress on. Finally, the process and features of students-oriented chemical textbookdesign were demonstrated concretely and vividly through the analysis of chemical textbookdesign of Shandong Education edition.Remaining Statement, the Stress on the Development Drift of Textbook Design fromStatic Design to Dynamic Generation. On the one hand, teachers should creatively exploreand utilize textbooks to build their meaning for students through their own positive andactive activities and promote their function to promote students' development to the full play.On the other hand, special attention must be paid to summing up teachers and students'feedback through their practical use of textbooks, so that textbooks can be revised andrefined continuously which ensure the course of textbook design a dynamic and openprocess. Therefore only when the teachers' textbook accomplishment was enhancedgenerally can the textbook design be optimized, which guarantees the true realization ofstudents-oriented textbook's function to promote students' development. The innovative points of this dissertation are mainly shown in three aspects: First, itwas stated clearly that the textbook design should focus on students' development, payattention to students' daily life, bring students' subject role into play and advance students'active learning and overall development. It's suggested that students' development-orientedtextbook should possess five basic characteristics, namely life care, explorative, speculative, balanced and open.Second, the basic process of textbook design was expounded, and the theoretical modelof students-oriented textbook design was constructed. It was suggested definitely thattextbooks should be designed in accordance with the curriculum standard, oriented byteaching activities and aimed at students' development. It was pointed out clearly textbooksshould be designed integrally comprising the four parts, that is, the establishment oftextbook goal, the selection, organization and presentation of textbook content. The methodsand strategies offered are workable.Third, the specific strategy and methods of students-oriented chemical textbook designwere stated clearly. The design and analysis of chemistry standard experimental textbookwere completed, which offered a reference case for students-oriented textbook design.
