The main proposition of this thesis is,that the leading educational value of our country is the education should satisfy the needs of China's development.The educational value is one of the most important components of educational theory. Of all kinds of the definitions of educational value,the writer prefers "The Theory of Relational category",namely the educational value refers to the category of the relation between the value subjects and its objects. It means the educational value subjects' understanding,experience and evaluation about the educational value objects,and the meaning of the objects to the subjects,the degree that they can satisfy the needs of the subjects.In the educational value system,the educational value has its levels,which shows the difference in the degree of primary and secondary and leads to the possibility of value choice. The educational leading value is the one that the subjects have chosen in order to satisfy their certain needs in the certain period. It defines the educational value which occupies the main place in the social development in the certain period. To choose the leading value,should obey the realistic rule,in other words,it is the choice that the value subjects have chosen by themselves. This choice may not be the best,but a most necessary one.The thesis will analyze the basis of establishing the leading educational value from the angle between practice and theory. The writer neither agrees with the mode of thinking of the theory between the sociocentnsm and individualism,nor that of the unity,which has the error of the theory equilibrium. The thesis prefers the Views of the Laying Particular Emphasis in the Unity. It is a concrete,historical and developing view. Namely,the educational value will lay particular emphasis in the different countries,in the different periods. So far as the recent China,it should be on the satisfaction of the social needs. The writer makes such a choice,because of some other theoretical assumes,such as the society-itself working,social value norm obeying,social objectivity of the value subjects' needs and educational attaching to the society.In the view of the point of practice,the educational history of China and West denotes,the leading educational value is always its social value,during the 20th century,that is to say,the educational value is that the education always satisfies theneeds of the social development,which supports the main point of the papers.In the view of above,the writer holds the point that the Chinese leading educational value should be its social value recently,that is,our education should satisfy the needs of the development of our country,or further,satisfy the needs of the development in our politics,economy,and culture,so as to improve the Chinese synthetic national power,and the national quality. This is the result under the rational analysis on China's politics,economy and culture at present.To choose the social value as Chinese educational value at present,the theoretical question not to be ignored,is how to treat the value that the education may satisfy the need of individual development. The writer thinks that in China at present. It only in the position of non-leading value,especially in some situation,it may even be the cost of the leading value choice,especially the theory of the idealistic individual development. No denying,such an educational value has some rational components,such as enlarging the students' subjective initiative. But this can not denote that it may be the leading value in China at present. We must analyze it rationally. It will not be good to the students' subjective initiative,and even restrict it in some respects,that the value orientation of Taking the Individual as Only Origin considering the subjective initiative without some rules,norms and laws,it will be a trample on such subjective initiative.
