China's new social stratum is such kind of social groups which came into being after China's reform and opening up in 1978.Through 30 years'development, characterized by ups and downs, China's new social stratum has become an important force for building a socialist society with Chinese characteristics. With its economic power constantly strengthening and arousal of people's citizen awareness, its political pursuance has continuously been on the rise. As a result, how to bring it into the current political system has become an urgent practical issue facing CPC, the ruling party. Developing China's socialist democracy and promoting China's political development is consistent objectives of the ruling party, CPC, and among those objectives, to extend citizens'orderly participating in political affairs from all levels and domains has become an important aspect, which naturally contains the political participation by China's new social stratum. The new social stratum participating in political affairs has become not only an important social-political phenomenon attracting much attention, but also an important theoretical and practical issue both for CPC to develop China's democracy. Based on China's social reality at present, and guided by the principles of Marxism political science, the dissertation at first will examine the new social stratum's political participation in the context of China's political development, which in turn will be set as the basic theoretical precondition to analyze such issues as brought about by the new social stratum participating in political affairs. Then the dissertation will study, in a comparatively systemic way, the theoretical and practical issue put forward by the new social stratum participating in political affairs in the perspective of its general theory, important value, real states, and other several problems needing attention.The dissertation consists of introduction, four chapters and concluding remarks. The introduction part not only explains reasons for and significance of selecting such a topic, but also explains the research status on such a topic, the framework, research methods, and innovative points. The main content of the thesis is as follows: Chapter one will review the theory related to the political participation by China's new social stratum. In this chapter, a research method characterized by from generality to particularity will be adopted to analyze the general theory of political participation, which includes its implication, characteristics, types, ways, and the influencing factors. Then such theories related to the new social stratum will be elucidated as its concept, its background and conditions, its social attributes and general characteristics. Finally, its evolution history and social conditions will be discussed in this chapter. In a word, the introduction part will be set as theoretical bedding for the following parts.The second chapter will analyze the value of China's new social stratum participating in political affairs. In the perspective of economic growth, China's new social stratum participating in political affairs can facilitate the development of non-public-sector economy by enlarging the quantity of the new social stratum, urge the new social stratum to devote themselves into economic construction drives by strengthening their political confidence and perfect the socialist market economy system by pushing market-oriented reform forward.
