This paper comes to the conclusion that the theory and methodology of the relationship and effect is the identity and difference of religion.There are three parts in this paper:Part one "Exposition" discusses the universal value of the identity and difference of religion: (1) the identity and difference of religion is the sanctify of the identity and difference in the concept of group society;(2) the identity and difference of religion is a common concept;(3) the identity and difference of religion is different by degree in different as to the types;(4) the identity and difference of religion is Multi-leveled in groups.Part two is the Body of the text and can be divided into three chapters. Chapter One discusses the part religion played in the course of formation and development of nationalities in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai. The religion the nationalities there believed included not only the traditional ones with national character such as Bon and Samen but also the world religion with cross-national character such as Islam and Buddhism. This chapter focus on the ways of the two kinds of religion with different characters devote to the formation of nationalities by sanctify of national consciousness by their objects and ideas. Chapter Two discusses the contribution religion made in the development of nation society in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai, mainly by the analysis on the history of development of the four factors of religion on the combination of religion in different times and different levels or groups. In the four factors, the organization and institution of religion is the outer facade of the other three factors, which would connect to the organization and institution of society and get to caesaropapism. This chapter discusses the contribution religion made in different times to the national society by the mainly religions in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai, Tibet Buddhism and Islam. Chapter Three discusses the part religion plays on the national relationship in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai. The national relationship in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai include two levers: the higher one is the relationship of the nationalities in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai and Chinese nation while the lower one is the relationship of the nations in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai. This chapter discusses the contribution they made to the pattern of diversity in unity of the Chinese Nation in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai, and the national relationship by different religions in different times by both the religions in the area and the inner coherence of the main religion and being loyal to the sovereign while honoring one's parents in confucianist culture.After all, the conclusion are as follows: the concept of one unified society is accepted by all nationalities in China as political concept; the concept of being loyal to the sovereign while honoring one's parents in confucianist culture is the political and social ethics of all nationalities in China; the nationalities in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai are all up to the concept of being loyal to the sovereign while honoring one's parents though they are in religion belief for all, Tibet Buddhism or Islam; the nationalities in the area of Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai are caesaropapism by degree but they all subordinate to the unified political system in China.
