System Of Rural Specialized Cooperative Economic Organizations

Farmer cooperative organizations have arisen quietly in rural areas in China since 1980th and have been developing quickly. A cooperative, which jointly owned, democratically controlled, economically participated and benefited by fanner members, is an economic organization. The institutional arrangement not only comprises the complex mechanism of interests that exists in Chinese rural society, but also involves the special constraint conditions that occur in institutional supply of domestic agriculture and countryside. Additionally, it indicates the institutional prospect of the economic development of Chinese rural society.The dissertation researches into the farmer cooperative organizations in Province Zhejiang with the analytical means of new institutional economics. It analyzes and explores the institutional characteristics, the institutional change, the property rights arrangements, the governance structure and the institutional circumstances of cooperatives.There are 8 components forming the dissertation.First, the chapter One is "Introduction", it provides an overview of the whole thesis as well as the research objective, significances and methods. Besides, it also summarizes the innovations and the deficiencies of this research.And then, the chapter Two "The general theoretical descriptions of farmer cooperative organizations" mainly expatiates the study achievements on cooperatives in and outside the country.Later, the institutional essence and the organizational border of cooperatives are emphasized in chapter Three "The institutional characteristics of farmer cooperative organizations".After that, the forth part "the institutional change of Chinese farmer cooperative organizations" has reference to the theoretic logic and the realistic necessity of cooperatives. During the course, it has the emphases on the mechanism of institutional change and the constraint conditions of Chinese farmer cooperatives as well as the analyses of the farmers' will to attend the cooperatives in Province Zhejiang.After then, it is defined from the perspective of the organizational capacity to analyze the membership and the financial structures in farmer cooperatives, it also provides the analytic arrangements of property rights in Province Zhejiang. This matter could be found in chapterFive "The arrangements of property rights of Chinese farmer cooperative organizations".Subsequently, according to a new research framework, the dissertation probes into the relationship between the power together with the irregular institution and the governance structure of cooperatives. Furthermore, it analyses the farmer cooperative organizations in Province Zhejiang. Contents above are the central idea of chapter Six "the structure of governance of Chinese farmer cooperative organizations".Afterwards, chapter Seven, titled as "Institutional circumstances of Chinese farmer cooperative organizations", mainly discusses the government's institutional supply, stakeholders, guiding of legislation and so forth.Finally, the last chapter "a summary and outlook of Chinese farmer cooperative organizations", sums up the paper and holds further perspective to the prospect of the cooperative's future development.
