A Long Narrative Folk Song "ga Da Mei Lin" Text And Historical Memory Study

As representative cultural phenomenon of Khorchin, Gada Meiren is the highest artistic value of narrative song in this area. Gada Meiren was born in the grassland of Khorchin at the 1930's,and the story about him been transmitted orally. Till the end of 1940's, the song had gradually spread with oral and written forms because of literati's participation. With the interaction of the oral and written form, under the influence of the shifting and changing of the state's narrative rights in different time, the song gradually becomes the ethical spirit's symbols. We should study on its canonization and the problems of how it to come to classic. Based on field -work, text analysis, the document's work and the research achievements, we have some academic review on the problems of Gada Meiren's textualizing. We will also discuss the characteristics and functions of the historical memory contents of folk song. Gada Meiren was elected in regional and national intangible cultural heritage in 2007 and 2008. The study which based on the historical and cultural contents of itself, has a certain reference value for rescuing the folk culture.The dissertation consists of an introduction,5 chapters, the conclusion and appendix.In the part of introduction, we describes the questioning consciousness, presents the significance and the purpose, the research method and the source of material etc.Chapter 1 is the overview on the event and the story of Gada Meiren.Chapter 2 analyses the historical study on the Khorchin, the background of Gada Meiren uprising and Gada Meiren's social humanities environment.Chapter 3 is about the problems of Gada Meiren's textualizing. The previous researches mainly formed Gada Meiren's compiled text based on formatting process. Standing on study of the oral tradition and ethnography, we will define Gada Meiren as "performance-centered" text. We also present the theoretical framework of Gada Meiren's scientific text.Chapter 4 discusses Gada Meiren's historical memory comparing with the document and oral materials.Chapter 5 is about the internal motives of Gada Meiren's canonization. We think that narrative motive is the deep historical and cultural memory, the interior motive is its gradually extending to other genres.The final part is the conclusion. The narrative song, an oral narrative form, becomes to influence the literacy creation, until to be canonizationed, the most important dynamics is the historical and cultural memory of itself.
