In a globalized world, art museum is no longer a fixed and limited space in a building, it is perceived as a kind of "way of thinking" instead, a kind of thinking method to observe the world with an open, overall and all-round point of view. For art museum, as a cultural institution in public domain, its creation and development are to meet the need to record modern Chinese history, and to show that Chinese cultural and artistic history is striving to integrate into the world cultural and artistic history. The self-consciousness, self-reflection and self-confidence of the art museum culture have been playing increasingly active and important role in strengthening the whole nation's image and spirit, as well as establishing social culture and order. The human society has gone into a "knowledge-based society" since the 21st century, people's demand and understanding to knowledge keep changing, together with their need and consumption on spiritual and cultural life become diversified. Art gallery, as a special cultural carrier and phenomenon, takes use of the most direct images to record people's memory, witness historical change, inherit culture and spread human knowledge.This dissertation focuses on art gallery as the objective, starts from art museum and society, culture and education from the perspective of knowledge production, addresses these issues against the globalization background, tries to explore the political, economic, historical and cultural meanings behind a single art gallery, as well as explains art gallery's cultural and social value, significance in knowledge production and aesthetic education.
