The Research On Shen Cong-wen's Writing And Music

Shen Cong-wen is a unique existence of Modern Chinese Literature history. On the one hand, this "unique" showed him as a writer but a thinker's temperament, on the other hand point to a specific style of his literary creation. At present, with regard to the research of Shen Cong-wen's thought has become a hot topic which academic achievements come out one after the other. However, about the art research, especially about the relationship between creativity and music in the study of Shen Cong-wen is lagging behind. This is the author's motivation involved in this field.This article is the preliminary results, it is divided into five chapters:The first chapter entitled "Shen Cong-wen'talks about music'".We mainly from three aspects combing his music ideas:First, with-regard to the function of the music education. Shen Cong-wen views, " Music to my preaching is more effective than any of the classic doctrine," Based on this, he responded positively to the calls of Mr. Cai Yuanpei "Aesthetic Education on behalf of religion"; Second, on the impact of music in literature, Shen Cong-wen was keenly aware of the common beween music and literature,——" The knowledge of music is good for writing short stories. Because there are some of interlinked areas, namely the organization. The effects of music and stories are also produced from the process." Hence his "most stories is always treated as a melody to write"; Third, Shen Cong-wen stressed the thinking of domestic music should be "obtained from the method of vientiane " and " from ancient to modern."The second chapter entitled "Shen Cong-wen's literary creation and Xiangxi local music," The author respectively studied the significant value of Shen Cong-wen's literary creation on the in Xiangxi local song and opera and "Natural tones". This paper argues that Xiangxi local music is not only an important means of creating " a music environment " in Shen Cong-wen's series of Xiangxi works, but also bearing portray characters, construct novels and other important functions.The third chapter entitled "Shen Cong-wen's literary creation and the structure of musical form ". From section 1 to section 3, the author analyzed various structures of musical form appling to Shen Cong-wen's literature successfully. In section 5, the auther discussed comprehensive over "Music motive" in Shen Cong-wen's texts. The fourth chapter entitled "Shen Cong-wen's literary creation and the polyphony." Section 1 analyzed polyphonic narrative about Shen Cong-wen's Works, the author believed that the polyphony of "Bian Cheng" reflected in the interweave of two opposing but independent "quasi-plot line"--"Love" and "non-love", but the polyphony of "Ba Jun Tu" derived from the coexistence of two kinds of focus modes between the narrator's omniscient perspective and the Da Shi's perspective. Section 2 studied "Kan Hong Lu", "Zhai Xing Lu" and "Shui Yun" and other dialogue-based polyphonic texts. In section 3, the auther comparatively discussed the polyphony text between Shen Cong-wen's and Dostoevsky's, Lu Xun's, Milan Kundera's, and so on.The fifth chapter entitled "The musical beauty of Shen Cong-wen's literary language." The author mainly demonstrated from two aspects of language:poetic language and fiction language.Summaryly, the author believed that Shen Cong-wen's literary creation truly realized a blend of literature and music.Therefore it is a unique landscape in the history of modern literature. In an article, Mr. Qian Liqun praised Lu Xun was an artists in the knowledge of painting and music, but in terms of the creative performance, Shen Cong-wen, seems to be more qualified to win the title.
