In classical Chinese literature, landscape is one of the most important aspects. In southern dynasties and Early Tang Dynasty, the description art about landscape got great development with the transition from old style poems to modern style poems. The most famous poets, just like Xie Lingyun, Xie Tiao, He Xun and Yin keng, Shen Quanqi and Song Zhiwen, all formed their own writing patterns on landscape poems.Xie Lingyun was interested in the original ecology and created landscape tour poems writing pattern. His poems are written in new style in frame, arrangement of landscape, syntax, and are mainly composed of three parts: travel records-landscape description-Xuan Li (a kind of theory of a philosophical sect in the Wei and Jin dynasties) expression, and the frame also can be adjusted flexible according to different poems. On landscape arrangements, he described landscape in accordance with the process of tour. On syntax, He took Pian Ju (a kind of parallel sentences) to describe complex nature. His unique syntax style became a typical characteristic of Xie Lingyun pattern to the later generations.XieTiao created city scenery poems writing pattern. Delicate descriptions are the feature of his poems. He was good at catching flowing lights and instant actions, and also depicted the scenery in the distances which stretched away as far as the eyes could see. What's more, in Xie Tiao's poems, the scenery and feelings blended into each other according to choosing special images, reseaching new forms and injecting personal taste. He Xun and Yin Keng wrote many scenery poems during their official travels and created another writing pattern. They specialized in syntax. Their scenery descriptions were more delicate than Xie Tiao's poems. In their poems, the instant small actions are interesting and continuous. But they are also different from Xie Tiao; they can depict general scenery with exquisite strokes, and showed some powerful and clear scenes. Besides, in the process of transiting from the old style poems to the new style poems, they made great progress, they also blended their rich heart experience into scenery, and explored the relations between feelings and scenery.Shen Qua-nqi and Song Zhi-wen blended beautiful nature into elegant palaces, representing landscape writing pattern of early Tang palace poems. They followed the delicate writing style of southern dynasties and specialized in expressing the whole atmosphere. Their poems not only described lights and colors from the point of visual sense, but also extended to the complex senses of smell and touch, making the form of Pian Ju more accurate and exquisite. In frame, they wrote in the pattern of three-sect, with the two landscape couplets in the middle, and explored new way in the art of introductory and conclusion. They used the art of palace landscape in more extensive cases, such as sight-seeing, send-off and official travel (seeking for government service away from home). This made their poems more elegant and novel. In addition, Shen and Song also benefited from the travel records writing experience of Xie and Bao. They described the beautiful scenery of south of the Five Ridges factually, and exploited new space in landscape tastes.
