| The system of interpersonal appellation means the various kinds of appellation used by man in the social communication. It's a special system attaching itself to a language, keeping a close relationship with many branches of learning and highly valued by linguistics and culture - anthropologists.The present research focuses on the static synchronic study, in which the interpersonal appellation in Vietnamese is divided into four parts: relative appellation, social appellation, full-name appellation and demonstrative appellation.Relative appellation refers to the names of kin and relatives connected directly or indirectly by blood, marriage and legal relationship. Social appellation mainly refers to the addresses in terms of social role used by man as a social member in interpersonal communication. Full-name appellation refers to the formal signified sign of every individual in human society. Demonstrative appellation refers to the pronoun used to signify oneself, counterpart, and the third party in interpersonal communication.Guided by current theoretical achievements and research perspectives, the paper gives a comprehensive description of interpersonal appellation systems in Vietnam and presents as comprehensive as possible the static present achievements in Vietnamese interpersonal appellation systems, on the basis of which the inevitability and rationality of various patterns involved in the appellation system is well justified. |
