Modern Design In Everyday Life

Everyday life is the domain which is continuously ignored. However, the development of modern industry civilization brings the whole humanities to the daily life, and it enters the domain of humanities research, for modern philosophy, sociology research and so on. The essential reason is modern daily life itself that becomes the root to think modernity and modern rational values. In this point of view, the dissertation has established the whole research that design return to daily life. The design constructs the rationality of the modern daily life, which indicates not only development of modern design directly spread in daily life, moreover, everyday life rational logic also is direction of design value. Design research from the daily life critique, on the one hand, it can establish design modernity reconsidering and the critique through the daily life critique; On the other hand, the research of design modernity will develop the daily life critique theory, and evolve new possibility about the daily life critique.The paper first analyzes the essence of modernity in which established the process that modernity marked off the boundary of daily life and modern design. Through rationality as common essential logic of modern design and daily life, which has constructed the theory based on "daily life critique of modern design". It has analyzed the modernity of design specifically, and summarized through three logical stages, namely the formation of design modern, the society which is controlled by design, the society which design is controlled.The stage of modern design's formation opens out the essential logic of formation of modern daily life and establishment of new design view; "The society which is controlled by design" points out the modem design also enters into "The society which is controlled by design" from design service to populace daily life, when design spirit and values of early modernism design developed in needs of early populace daily life enters into function principle design stage, at the same time, design becomes the tool forms that can control populace daily life, and it also becomes new myth about rule of daily life; "The society which design is controlled", is pointed out that design modernity controlled by consumption rationality and economy rationality has caused comprehensive disassimilation of the populace daily life. Design becomes a kind of expense ideology and rhetoric of expense rationality, which created enchanting charm form for tool rationality to control humanity life. It makes populace living rationality of disassimilation lost the critique strength, and design rationality itself also fall into profound crisis of society and culture. This article points out forms the essential reason which resulted difficult position is the division of the design epistemology, the methodology and the design axiology which resulted from absence of design ontology. Finally, the critique of design modernity will go into research of design ontology. The construction of design ontology has effectively resolved the crisis and difficult position of development of design modernity, and provided power to surmount the disassimilation of the daily life. The design ontology makes design rediscover daily life, and "make the daily life become art" by design critique.Through daily life critique of modern design, this article is also to explain Chinese society, daily life, culture and design which came through intense reformations, and points out China design modernity influenced "intern implosion" and "external implosion", which have the possibility to realize its creative transformation in the process of reforming Chinese present daily life.
