The Book of Dong-Han was a great work of the history and literature. In this thesis, it discussed literary features of the Book of Dong-Han. It contained the introduction, surplus section, and eight chapters, more than 360 000 words.The introduction part narrated the reason of this thesis, the history of research on the Book of Dong-Han's literature and its present situation. In ancient China, research on the Book of Dong-Han was mostly rather fragmentary. To date, attention is less paid to it by peoples. The monographs and papers are not enough. It was noted that the Book of Dong-Han was discussed few in nearly almost teaching materials of Chinese ancient literature historyChapter 1 introduced briefly the society customs of Dong-Han Dynasty and background of the writer's age. Depending on lairds and nobles, the Dong-Han Dynasty was set up and started with a kind of noble customs fusing together with lairds' and nobles', which opened a new cultures window of the Wei and Jin Dynasty. After the middle age in Dong-Han Dynasty, in fact, Emperors had weak power to control the government, and the relative of Emperors and the eunuch governed the country. At that present, corruption and luxury rampaged about in the whole country, disaster overflowed year in and year out. The peoples lived in extreme misery and strikes swept through the whole nation. The government advocated the Confucianism and moral integrity. Most faithful persons were struggle into cliqued unit and to retrieval the declination of their time. But as a result, most of these peoples were killed in large, and they had to flee from politics, and lived an indifferent and calm life, which brewed the custom of the Wei and Jin Dynasty. During Jin and Song Dynasty, keening on history by peoples and the declination of Confucianism thus urged the Fan Ye's writing jointly.Chapter 2 discussed the ideology and content of the Book of Dong-Han that glorified the Confucianism and explored the gain and loss, and the success and failure of the Dong-Han Dynasty. And this chapter described in detail his love knot for the Confucianism and his historic duty for the great writer, Fan Ye.Chapter 3 discussed the structures of the Book's structures including macroscopic, mesoscopic and microscopic levels. Peoples had different attitudes to evaluation of the structures. In the thesis, it described in detail the characters of the biographies and the reasons of their formation. The macroscopic structure took a critical on the history edition four times during the Dong-Han's Dynasty. The microscopic structure was character biography, and it was divide into eight types. Furthermore, the appendixes of character biographies were also discussed.Chapter 4 discussed the narration art. On the base of the former research, the writer put forward eight methods, and tried to explore the narration theory of mainland in China. Otherwise, the narrations of the Book of Dong-Han pursued to repetition and formed a particular narration style.In Chapter 5, portray art was discussed in detail. The Book of Dong-Han depicted the writer embodying his emotion. In his writing, the person are not mystery, and full of development and fluidness. It wrote out lots of vivid characters, and also used many methods.Chapter 6 discussed the language style. The language with delicacy, braveness, elegance, and repeat ion, had brought out aesthetic feeling in succession, with empty word in brief and old or live sentiment, which also drew us into aesthetic world.In Chapter 7, the discussion on the Book of Dong-Han was summarized in a rather strength and vigor tone. As a writer with strong enthusiasm, Ye Fan, was full with affectionateness greatly, and with lots of new ideas, which was expressed in many discussion of his history essay.In Chapter 8, the Book of Dong-Han was compared with the Book of Three Kingdoms. In this paper, the two books were looked back to their history, and then their difference among may aspects such as narration, structure, language and so on were hot discussed in good order. At last, it was concluded that the Book of Dong-Han overmatched the Book of Three Kingdoms a bit.At last chapter, the thesis was summarized briefly and it coordinated the influence of the Book of Dong-Han with praise or blame. It was noted that the spot of the career during Fan Ye's life the literature value about the Book of Dong-Han was emphasized, and the honor of its was given in detail.
