Functional Grammar Analysis On The Discourse Of Journalism Comment

In most of the research on the language used in Journalism, there exist problems such as insufficient explanation and ignorance of the difference in style. This dissertation focuses on these two problems and applies the theory of systematic functional grammar to the analysis of the rules in the usage of speech and langue in journalism comment, in the hope that the characteristics of its style will then be identified.In this article we will explore the usage and feature of ideational function, interpersonal function and textual function in journalism comment, applying three metafunctional analyses in functional grammar theory. We will focus on semantic feature while paying attention to pragmatic feature, context and ideology and offer a functional explanation on discourse phenomena.We will also compare the features of news report and news comment, taking a synchronic approach, and offer a functional explanation on their dynamical mechanism.â… hope that this article will enrich the ideas and research directions of reality disquisition on journalism language. And the conclusion we arrive at will be of use in distinguishing different styles in journalism language. And consequently it will provide food for thought and diverse choices for the research of the language used in news comment.
