The research discussed in this paper targets the culture embedded Tibet's political system during the dGa' ldan pho brang period (the most significant period in the formation of Tibet). The paper analyzes characteristic features of cultural activities, development of principles and mechanisms for revision of laws, cultural and political significance of revisions in rules and mechanisms as well as cultural and social hierarchical structures of the dGa' ldan pho brang political system.This research paper investigates the background of Tibet's social organization,with support from utilizing academic predecessors and a perspective of cultural anthropological studies to analyze the culture embedded political administration, official management, and document and archival systems during the dGa' ldan pho brang period. Further, multidimensional perspectives of politics, cultural anthropology, and religious studies are interpreted in the context of cultural and social hierarchical structures within the culture of the political system during the dGa' ldan pho brang period. One aim for this research is to obtain vital information or facts about this unique political and religious system. This paper broadly analyzes the scope and formation of Tibet's culture within its political system, cultural development and exchange, trajectory and variation of laws during the dGa' ldan pho brang period.This paper is organized into six chapters:Chapter1: Introduction.Description of researching scopes, goals, significance and methods of the study along with a description of the current situation of research in China and abroad. Research in this paper is based on the work of academic predecessors, and Cross-cutting, utilizing multidisciplinary research methods to integrate politics, cultural anthropology, religious and ethnological studies to investigate these particular historical issues. In addition,this paper utilizes a combination of macro and micro analyses of anthropological methods, and incorporates the use of various types of documents and field research methods.Chapter2:The establishment of dGa' ldan pho brang,the formation as well as its development of the culture embeded its political system are principal topics that serve to elucidate the background of the formation and development during the dGa' ldan pho brang period. Primary emphesis is to analyze and research the formation of the culture embeded this political system and the development of historical trajectory or process.Chapter3:Using work of predecessor concerning the political administrative system of dGa' ldan pho brang, an analysis of the system of assembly; Dalai Lama's highly regarded decision-making system; the institutions of central administration; the organization of district administmtion(Chikyabs, Dzong and Gzhiska)[sub-dzong]under a unified administrative system. An examination of all ranks of administrativeorganization's history, idea, form, activities, principles and trajectory of development. Based on this fundamental knowledge, an analysis and exploration of development and change in the political system formed under the administrative ranks of organizational political systems.Chapter4:Research and analysis of official management systems can be understood in the context of official appointment, official ranking, official seat order, official uniform, official seals, tour of inspection of the Dalai Lama, etiquette and customs among others.Chapter5:dGa' ldan pho brang a considerably extensive archival system. Activities of local government bodies were documented in great detail via archives system, and the development of a documents and archival system can likewise in view of its political system. During the dGa' ldan pho brang period, voluminous archives were maintained with these well-preserved archives of various forms perfectly reflecting its social system. Through the development process of the archival system, documents and characteristic forms as well as themes of the dGa' ldan pho brang can be researched or analyzed.Chapter6:Conclusion. The aforementioned dGa' ldan pho brang Period's administrative, officer management, archival systems are analyzed, and used with different angles of anthropological perspectives to summarize the characteristic weaknesses and strengths of the dGa' ldan pho brang's culture of political system. Three principal features based onYellow Sect Tibetan Buddhism(dGe lugs pa sect)strongly relate to a hierarchical monastic and political system(Theocracy), political control of the feudal serf system, and a centralized system of politics. These features based on a concept of divine right, religious and aristocratic authority and administrative power represent a four-in-one combination of a mixed political structure and system.In this paper, reference to large volumes of Tibetan written records are first translated into Chinese serves as documentation and refrence. In specific, vital information from dGa' ldan pho brang's cultural characteristic and evolutionary political system via its archival system and official management system of Tibetan historical documents is utilized. Some archival information serves as reference data,with other information used for discussion of political background.Relevant photo information and charts are listed and included in the body of this paper (particular note, all photos have never been published before.It is first time to use all those in the paper), in order to visually understand whole ideas presented by the text. Moreover, attached are three appendices: "1642-1959: The list of dGa' ldan pho brang Chief Executive Successor", "The chart of dGa' ldan pho brang's political system"and "Glossary of Tibetan terms".
