Ma Yifu's thoughts include two focal points that are the theory of LiuYi and the poetics, and the latter is the component of the former.The theory of LiuYi that is Ma Yifu's thought of sciences include three propositions that are "LiuYi integrates all sciences" \ "LiuYi is integrated by the heart" \ "All parts of LiuYi are integrated by each other" . With the aid of the method of Buddhist distinguishing denominations, Ma Yifu created his theory of LiuYi that advocate distinguishing all cultures to oppose the current of dividing subjects in modern times and defend the Chinese tradition of thinking highly of immense erudition and moral values."Recovering the moral instinct" academy is the practice of Ma Yifu's theory of LiuYi. The purpose of the academy that was not in the modern system of education was synthesizing Confucian classics and explicating the morality . The argumentation on the purpose and the system of the academy brought out between Ma Yifu and Xiong Shili, but the same introspection was achieved by Ma Yifu and Liang Shuming. The practice of the academy would offer references to turning direction of the traditional Confucian education.The theory of the effort is the methodology of self-cultivation in the theory of LiuYi. Ma Yifu put forward three methods of self-cultivation such as reading\inquiring principle and self-restraint that were based on the theory of ZhuXi to treat and cure the disease in his time.
