Study on city-countryside of novel is the important question for literary discussion, which is not because that they are social circumstance elements, their culture connotation, but the importance to authors. Especially in the late twenty years of 20th century,with the chance happened in social city an countryside, city-countryside image of literary has a great chance. In all, the study on city-countryside is often about image and culture. On the course of study, I found that city-countryside image of literary depends on the writer's sight that embodies their cultural viewpoints, and author's viewpoint is different on the basis of their identity. So this thesis explains the relation between author's identity and describing about city- countryside in the late twenty years of 20th century from social angle, and reveals the differences in choice and pondering of writers.At first, this thesis explains opposite social forms of literary city-countryside which provide sight of city and countryside for author under the circumstance of modernity, and these forms discuss the relation between author's identity and writing for establishing theory premise of this paper and discriminating authors. In chapter two, the thesis analyses there writing about city-countryside of writers who is from countryside: protecting tradition culture in country; from marching into city for modernity to going back to country for tradition; antagonizing modernity but having no chance and no power to withdrawing. Form the different choice to city-countryside and culture, this chapter reveals the grief and plight of those authors from country under the circumstance of urbanization. In chapter there, the thesis analyses there writing about city-countryside of writers who had been from city to countryside: owing to country but departing for self-worth; searching for revolutionary from country and oppugning the search; entering into city to writing daily life.
