This thesis is an attempt to discuss the relationship between the ideas of picturesque and the water colour landscape paintings during the 19th centry. Such a topic is intimately related to the evolution of the aesthetic theory and the development of the watercolour skills, also it will inevitably include the evolution of man's response to the natural world. What the author wish to do is to describe some art theories and works which were changing from. rationalism and into romanticism.
