Interior Design Studies In The Era Of Consumption Culture

As the gradual deepening of Reform and Opening-up as well as the increasingly frequent international exchange, the economy in our country is rapidly developing, and the living standard in people has been tremendously improved, and in the current stage. The social development and the daily life style in our country have expressed the characteristics of the consumption culture in the certain level. The extension of the contemporary consumption culture does not be carried out through the conflict between the different cultures, but infiltrated in the daily life, to affect the idea in people subtly. At present, the interior design in some developed areas in our country expresses the phenomena life the show-off, not sparing the cost and the labor and blindly seeking the interior design pattern from the western country, etc, all of which are connected with the influence of the consumption culture, and this kind of the situation should be addressed, and if not rationally recognizing it, it will be harmful for the development of the interior design. Therefore this paper will bring the contemporary interior design into the background of the consumption culture, to have the analysis in the sociology aspect for the many phenomena in the interior design. In this paper, in focus, it will recognize the course of the occurrence and the development of the consumption culture and its influences for the interior design, and make the interpretation for the interior design phenomena in the consumption culture era in the cultural and social aspects, and make the discussion for the aspects like the change of the interior design concept and its aesthetic characteristics in the background of the consumption culture.
