'Qing' (emotion) is one of the most basic notion in Chinese Philosophy ,and plays an important role in classical Chinese society. Different from the pursuing of metaphysics in Western Philosophy, Chinese Philosophy puts the most of its interests in the existence of the person of this real world. For a person, 'Qing'(emotion) is his essential property, without emotion person will not be a person again. 'Qing' (emotion) is very impor tant to Chinese Philosophy, and also it is treated in detail in Chinese Philosophy, such as its meaning, its foundation, its occurrence, and its importance. In classical China , 'Qing' (emotion) is respected as a holistic notion, that is to say it is respected as a whole in every aspect. As for the division of the subject in modern society , 'Qing' (emotion) maybe involved in Politics, Ethics, Aesthetics, Psychology, Sociology, Literature , Art, etc. 'Qing' (emotion) is specially respected in classical China, also in Chinese Philosophy. To some extent, we can call classic Chinese Philosophy as the Philosophy of 'Qing'(emotion) .So the study of the 'Qing' (emotion) is very important for the study of the classical Chinese Philosophy, certainly , it is difficult for us to give a wholly study the Philosophy of 'Qing' (emotion) , and it also can not be succeeded only by such an article. Then, I picked out the Philosophy of 'Qing' (emotion) in Wei-Jin period as an example, through the study of this period to point out the importance of 'Qing' (emotion) in Chinese philosophy , its virtue, its influence ,and so on.Why do I choose Wei-Jin period as an example? Because in Wei-Jin period'Qing' (emotion) is the decided character of the people, also it is thecentral virtue of the society. For other words, it is a society where thevirtue of 'Qing' (emotion) is mostly respected. By study the 'Qing'(emotion) in Wei-Jin period, we can get a better knowledge of 'Qing'(emotion) in Chinese phi losophy, and also a better understanding of the...
