Music For The Folk Beliefs Of Taihu Lake District, China

This dissertation tackles the music for the folk beliefs of Taihu Lake District on the border area between Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, with this music as a subject from folklore perspective, an attempt to explain its relations with folklore and the features in itself.Three sections can be found, i.e. Folk Beliefs in Taihu Lake District, Music for the Folk Beliefs in Taihu Lake District, and Connotations as Reflected in the Music for the Folk Beliefs in Taihu Lake District, with a great number of photos, video and audio recordings, and transcriptions, all from my fieldwork.This study reveals the whole sets of authentic rituals for beliefs in existence, as well as its music and context, a work for further research in this area.
