As we trying to research in "the Belief of Zheng Cheng Gong", attention must be paid both of its official and folk effecter. Furthermore, due to the special historical background of Taiwan, every generation regime redefines Zheng Cheng Gong's success, making the belief culture more complicated and more deeply influence. The religious belief arises as according to the demand of people. Its is a social phenomenon of cultural transmission deeply related to politics, economic and other activities, in which the historical memory hidden in the collective consensus would be handed down to the generations to come.In different ages, "the Belief of Zheng Cheng Gong" performs different miracles according to needs of people, such as battle-assistant, rain prayer, watercourses regulation, the elimination of insect, medical treatments, the search of lost articles, life consultation. Every generation regime redefines the belief de to its political position. This essay analyses the history of different times in Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty, and Japanese-colonial era after world war 2.
