The Cultural Revolution literature is the result of the composition of aberrance forces from society, culture, politics and history, and it has its own inducement of the era and the soil of literature. The Cultural Revolution literature passionately presents a revolutionary carnival of literature on the stage of ruins, extremely lacking of the ecological resources. Under the rule of the "Three Stresses" - the "constitution of art", the Cultural Revolution literature formed its own narrative style, with the deep trace on the decade, and it became the tool for the radical politicians to set up the political apotheosis and the springboard to realize the will to power. Even the "poisonous weeds" literature, fallen under the public criticism at that time, danced with its political bonds, and displayed its tragic destiny, just like the puppet controlled by the political thread. In this dissertation, based on the theory of narratology, the author tries to probe into the Cultural Revolution literature, using the aesthetical method of structuralism, and consulting such theories as the Marxist dissimilation theory, the critical theory on mass culture, and the reader-response criticism. The author of this dissertation attempts to make a deep interpretation on the literary works published in the Chinese mainland during the Cultural Revolution from the following four aspects: 1) the discourse of narration and the collective description, 2) the function of narration and the ideal personality, 3) the condition of narration and the social circumstances, and 4) the strategy of narration and the political demands. This study takes the text, the collective creation and the method of acceptation of the Cultural Revolution literature as the starting point of the research, explores the profound impact of centralization of state power and the cultural psychology of warfare upon the discourse. In the process of analyzing the motive of the narration, the author thinks that in the orgiastic political discourse of the whole nation, the Cultural Revolution literature tears down the old political-cultural cloak, weaves its own cultural web, and exerts itself to create the heroic characters, corresponding to the political intention and the ideal personality, demonstrating the value of examples. And the author of the dissertation also points out that the Cultural Revolution literature presents both in apparent and concealed text structure the correspondence between the power discourse and the civilian ideality of the specific era, and it is the result of political intervention from the radical and the mass taste. Discussing the influence of the viewpoint of power-truth in the social political area upon the standpoint of narration of the Cultural Revolution literature, the author emphasizes that the Cultural Revolution literature has a close relation with politics, that is, under the powerful control of the politics of that decade, the literary themes must pass through a political filtration when they came into the visual threshold of the literary representation, and in this way, they were engraved with the historical inscriptions of the Cultural Revolution. Even the magnificent style of narration, relying heavily on the service to the official will and being somewhat on the beat with the civilian cultural position, put up the setting of narration which upgraded the political connotation of the daily life. Through the previous analysis of the Cultural Revolution literature and the historical excruciation, it is the author's wish that this research could be a helpful edification for us to set up a healthy environment for the development and the flourishing of the contemporary literature.
