| Zhoushu of Shangshu reserves many value materials of politics, military affairs,philosophy,law,ethics of western Zhou Dynasty. It is the important origin of Chinese traditional culture and thought, which has great influence to later ages society. Moreover, Wuyi is a warning article in the Zhoushu of Shangshu, in which Duke of zhou exhorted king of cheng to be diligent in political affairs and show solicitude for the People, protect and care for the People, to be self-blaming and self-examination. The article of Wuyi is an important historical document of society and politics at initial stage of Western Zhou Dynasty, which reflects the political thought of ruling class of Western Zhou Dynasty. Wuyi is included both in the Jinguwen Shangshu. study on Wuyi is also pushed forward with study on Shangshu. However, many scholars didn't study Wuyi systemly and deeply,but by explaning with notes.On the base of summarizing and studying previous study accomplishment, this thesis combines historical document with linguistics materials, and refers to the inscriptions on oracle bones or on bronzewares, as well as the achievement in the other fields are borrowed for the study. Meanwhile,the thesis is intended to systemly discuss the main controversy in the study of Wuyi, and analyses the background of its formation, its thought basis and political thought and cultural connotation, as well as its great influence to later ages society.This thesis is divided into nine parts.The first part is the introduction, which briefly describes the basic con-text of Wuyi, and points out the significance of the study, makes a simple comment about the outcome and problem that exists in the previous studies on this topic, as well as the structure of this thesis, study method and innovation,etc.In the second part, on the base of previous studies, the controversy in the study of Wuyi. The present author thinks that Duke of Zhou acted as king indeed; the king of Yin mentioned by Duke of Zhou in Wuyi should be Zuyi(Zhongzong), Dijia (Zujia). In addition, the present author also makes detailed differentiation and analysis on such problems as"be carefree and comfortable","Gaozong's observing his mourning","king of wen's visiting to kanggong and Tiangong and wearing worn-out clothes", ect.The third part overall discusses the historical background of producing of Wuyi, which includes the complex political situation in the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the practical difficulty that new ruler faced. These important problems should be treated and solved seriously by Duke of Zhou.The fourth part chiefly analyses the base of thought that Wuyi is produced, and points out that producing of Wuyi is the inevitable result in the new era under the influnence of new stream of thought, which includes"worship the God and attach importance to the people"and"advocate virtue and punish prudently"The fifth part discusses emphatically the political thought which is embodied in Wuyi. The political thought is the critical factor that made Western Zhou Dynasty remain stable and development.The sixth part taps deeply the cultural connotation which is contained in Wuyi, such as the consciousness of suffering, the virtue of advocating diligence and thrift, the concept of harmony. It indicates that Wuyi played important role for formation of the Chinese nation traditional values and development of traditional culture.The seventh part lists some typical cases how Duke of zhou made painstaking efforts and spared no effort in the performance of his duty in order to make Zhou Dynasty remain stable and prosperous. It shows that Duke of Zhou is not only the positive advocater but also the outstanding practioner of Wuyi thought. Duke of Zhou is the paragon for Zhou Dynasty and later ages society.The eighth part analyses emphatically that Wuyi has profound and lasting influence to later ages. It indicates that Wuyi thought is very important to every dynasty's rising and falling by listing the example of King both of Cheng and Kang in Western Zhou Dynasty, Guangwu emperor in Han Dynasty, Xuanzong in Tang Dynasty and KangXi emperor in Qing Dynasty.The ninth part make a conclusion on the main ideas of the whole thesis, and points out there is great benefit to present society's development and progress by study of Wuyi, on the times background of great culture prosperous and development. |
