Yuhai (玉海)is a large-scale reference books which compiled by WangYingLin (王应麟).It is WangYingLin peacetime book summary, save a lot of precious documents of suitang and wudai (隋唐五代)dynasty, some of these involves many important classics, save a lot of unique material, has the very high literature value. Since yuhai have numerous parts and documents, people do not use all of the book details which lead the suitang and wudai materials, therefore, it is necessary to carry out them overall to arrangement and study. The introduction section of tis paper summarizes previous research.The text of this paper contain the basic situation of yuhai and the preservation of the important literature, is divided into six chapters.The first chapter discusses the yuhai historiography and spreading process collectly, analyzes the yuhai produces background and former generation of reference books projected the influence in yuhai , and contact the characteristics of the documents to describe the situation of documents of suitang and wudai dynasty.The second chapter explore Li(礼) and Yue(乐)class of the suitang and wudai dynasty in yuhai.There are two books of Li class and four books of Yue class.Chapter 3 and 4 separately elaborated the practice of the shilu (实录)of tang dynasty which records of intellectual situation, and take lot of recording of entries from yuhai.Contrast with cefuyuangui(册府元龟),we can find they catch the same article or clause from shilu.The fifth chapter discusses documents of the ZaShi(杂史) and ZaZhuanJi(杂传记)style of suitang and wudai dynasty in yuhai.The sixth chapter discusses documents of the ZhiGuan(职官) and DiLi(地理) and other style of suitang and wudai dynasty in yuhai. The final part is the summary for the conclusion of the yuhai in preserving the suitang and wudai literature contribution, and reveal its literature value.
