From the beginning of being dominantly designated as people in need of remolding--petty bourgeoisie by mainstream discourse, the intellectuals not only lost the discourse power in the reality, but also were expressed as the other of the historical subject (the proletariat) in the literature narrative at the same time. In order to dispel the old ego, get rid of the threatened identity ,and seek the safe identity ownership and the role localization under the new situation, through imaginally in the novels molding the intellectual images which had the isomorphism nature with the writers themselves -- this basic practical behavior of discourse which had strong symbolic significance--to respond the mainstream ideology discourse inquires about the written standard and the reality calls of the intellectual, was the 17-year entire intellectual writers' common latent political aspirations.However ,if they wanted to attain the ideal narrative effects which conformed to the mainstream ideology's demands and achieve the above goals --to construct their own status of the proletariat historical subject effectively , how to express and how to shape becomed an very essential and subtle question which contained rich cultural connotations and significances. After all, the integrity of the texts was only an illusion in the writings of the writers who had complex thoughts . Based on the relationship between intellectual, narrative, ideology and identity, with the aid of the historical data excavation and the text attentive reading , the present dissertation tries to restore the social context of 17-year--the specific historical period as far as possible and make a phenomenological study symptomatically on the complex process and the modus from the viewpoint of the production and composition of the literary discourse.This dissertation consists of three parts, namely introduction, body part and conclusion.Among them, the body part is divided into seven chapters.The introduction first puts forwards the issue on the asymmetry between the native and the related criticism research on the intellectual image in the 17-year red novels, holds that this kind of intriguing phenomenon is the result of multiple factors'interaction, related with the real intellectuals'demands of the political status in the specific context. And then, in order to manifest the primary elaborated intention effectively, the introduction defines the concept of intellectual objectively and realistically based on the analysis of it and elaborates the research condition on the narrative during three stages (17-year, the 1980s, the 1990s until now). Finally, its standpoint, method, mentality and significance about the research are proposed clearly .Chapter one lays study emphasis on the background and the forming mechanism of the narrative. Section one discusses emphatically the rule formation and the model establishment of Liberated Area Literature which is the direct source of the current literature of China and takes Yan'an Literature as representative. The rule formation and the model establishment are the process moving towards the historical consciousness along with the remolding of the intellectual ideological by the discipline of the mainstream discourse, but not completely. Based on the relationship between Liberated Area Literature and 17-year Literature, Section two discusses the specific reasons for the formation of the narrative in internal and external dimensions of the context of time and the subjective of the writers. "Revolution and Love" is a common narrative pattern about intellectual whether in 17-year Literature, or in Revolutionary Literature in the 1920s and 1930s,but has different manifestations. Chaptertwo makes an attempt to clarify their inherent consistencies and differences, relations and divergences about this common narrative pattern at the level of the creative subject , ideas, features and development and expects that the intellectual image narrative and its inherent occurrence mechanism can be understood deeply ,and the intellectual political appeal for the identity ownership at that time can be learned more.Chapter three discusses how to create the revolutionary intellectual images which have typical exemplary significance in the 17-year novels from the perspective of the ideological ritualization expression. Section one concretely analyses the preexistence demonstration and guidance role of Enlightenment which the representatives of the proletariat revolution ideology, such as persons, words, actions, things , and so on, play in the petty bourgeoisie intellectual growth process along with their receiving the proletariat thoughts and getting rid of the petty bourgeoisie thoughts. Section two concretely analyses the phenomenon that the revolutionary discourse makes the intellectuals undergo a variety of practical tests successfully during their becoming the revolutionaries. Section three elaborates the intellectuals were called for the historical subject after the ceremony confirmation.Chapter four explores the personification show of the intellectual images from the perspective of otherness and myth. As the revolutionary discourse is a metadiscourse, and the revolutionary narrative is a metanarrative , in order to embody the realistic theme of the intellectual' ideological remolding, by the impacts and constraints of the Binary Opposition thought pattern, the 17-year novels shaped the intellectual images in two dimensions which includes the warning and the examplification on the basis of using the technique of difference sequence.From the unity of the narrative effects, chapter five tries to clarify the fact that the style is the man, the sincere meanings are expressed in the dominated writings , and the style and the sincere meanings must be combined. This part at the level of narrative perspective elaborates that whatever the stories are narrated in any angle by the writers, the narrative perspective will manifest the writers' subject localization -- creation posture and status consciousness finally.Chapter six elaborates that when the narrative subject pursues the authentic effects and carries on tendency expression in the creative process, the elite consciousness and the transcendency character which are holded by the cultural heroes and the intellectual elites don't disappear with it. The intellectual enlightenment discourse crossing the grand narrative brings the novels the aesthetic effects which have the narrative tension in the times about the discourse,but thus bring the realistic intellectual appeal for the identity the trouble too.The last chapter takes four quite typical novels of 17-year whose expressive object is the intellectual as an example, according to the logic of introduction, elucidation, transposition and summary ,and from the diachronical angle ,concretely explains how this narrative goes from the heterogeneous to the isomorphism,and analyzes the profound implication which the narrative contains.The conclusion overallly reviews the formation, evolution and creation features of the narrative, and notes the changed and unchanged in the intellectual appeal for identity transformation since New Period.
