Objective: To assess the correlation between blood pressure and hematomaenlargement in patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods: We included all studies which analyzed the relationship between blood pressure and hematoma enlargement in ICH patients. We searched electronic databases as follows: MEDLINE (1974—2005,12 ), EMBASE(1974 —2005,12) , Chinese Biomedical Literature Database ( CBM,1979—2005.12 ) . China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI,1989—2005.12) .In addition, we tracked down the reference lists of papers related to hematoma enlargement in ICH. We handsearched 7 important Chinese journals about Neurology. Two authors (YQW,CXH) independently assessed the methodological quality of studies and extracted data. Discussion or the third person (LM) when the disagreement needed be resolved. The Revman 4.2 and the Peto method were used for data analysis. Dichotomous data are given as odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) and as weighted mean difference (WMD) with 95% CI for continuous data.
