Yellow Soup With Guishao Jointly By The Experimental Thermotherapy Treatment Of Exudative Age-related Macular Degeneration

Object Study on the pathogenesis of CNV and research into exudative senile macular degeneration treated by guishaodihuangtang(归芍地黄汤) and TTT.Methods 1.Induced CNV animal model with semiconductor laser. FFA examination occurred weeks 1,2,3,4 and 8.OCT examination occurred just before euthanasia and tissue was processed for hematoxylin eosin stain, histopathology immunohistochemigtry of VEGF,bFGF and PEDF and transmission electron microscopy on week 8. 2. Induced CNV animal model treated with guishaodihuangtang(归芍地黄汤) and TTT.Divided animals into five groups: normal control, negative control,TTT treatment group, TCM treatment group and combined treatment group. FFA and OCT examinations occurred weeks 4 and 8. Hematoxylin eosin stain,specific stain of axon stain,histopathology immunohistochemigtry of VEGF,bFGF and PEDF and transmission electron microscopy were made on week 8.Results 1. Leaking of CNV was firstly observed on week 2 by FFA. The highest rate was observed on week 4 till to week 8. CNV was confirmed by OCT, hematoxylin eosin stain and transmission electron microscopy. In model group, VEGF,bFGF and VEGF/PEDF increased significant and PEDF incredsed lightly.2. CNV was confirmed by FFA and OCT on weed 4. Through FFA,OCT, hematoxylin eosin stain,transmission electron microscopy,axon stain examinations and histopathology immunohistochemigtry of VEGF,bFGF and PEDF,the best curative effect group was combined treatment group. Although the PEDF increased most in TTT treatment group,there was no statistics difference between it and combined treatment group. VEGF/PEDF decreased most in combined treatment group too.Conclusion 1. CNV animal model induced by semiconductor laser can be an animal model for experimental study of ESMD.2.TTT and TCM can subsidise CNV through discreasing VEGF,bFGF and VEGF/PEDF and increasing PEDF.At the same time,they can increase axon in inner plexiform layer.In a conclusion,the best curative effect group was combined treatment group.
