BackgroundWith the development of genomic research, proteomics has become an extremely active and increasingly important part of the worldwide life science research and the core of the functional genomics era or the "post-genomic era". Several new technologies in proteomics developed in the past few years greatly boosted the discovery-based research of tumor markers beyond the disadvantages of traditional approaches. Serum proteomics as a proteomics became more and more important in proteomics research, which deposit a lot of clues of organism process in our body. Therefore, we only know about all protein in serum, some diseases susceptivity, process, diagnosis and therapy can be found out by serum inspection. Follow these rules, some current problems might be predictable and avoidable.ObjectiveThe incidence of laryngeal malignant tumor is about 1-5% of whole body malignant tumor, and listed as the third in otorhinolaryngology. The early diagnosis to laryngeal cancer is quite important to the increase of 5 years survival ratio and survival quality of laryngeal cancer sufferer. With the technology of SELDI-TOF-MS, We extracted and separated total proteins in the laryngeal cancer serum and the normal serum, polyp of vocal cord serum and postoperative serum.
