The presentation of Chinese indigenous medicine has humanities feature. The formula of Chinese indigenous medicine is complexity and nonlinearity. Operation mode of Chinese indigenous medicine is a nature of experience medical science. For nearly 50 years, many scholars in Chinese indigenous medicine and Western medicine have made so many efforts to achieve the theory of Chinese indigenous medicine. However, there are still many difficulties for those people work in Chinese indigenous medicine. The reason that we still have so many difficulties is because that the methodology being used now is not suitable for the investigation of the theory of Chinese indigenous medicine. Also, the complexity, the entirety, the nonlinearity and the dynamic feature of the Chinese medicine theory were not fully realized. So it is necessary to make use of the latest achievement of modern science, especially the method and theory of complicacy science, in the construction of a scientific methodology which is suitable for Chinese medicine. The method of neural network has its globality, systematic ness, nonlinearity, simultaneous treatment, auto-learning, self-organization and very strong self- error correction features. It has made big achievement in pattern recognition, autocontrol, signal processing, decision making and artificial intelligence with its unique structure and message handling method. The method of neural network has become a major method in deal with the complexity and nonlinearity problems. In our study, the neural network were used in prediction and solving the key problem between the diagnosis of syndrome in Chinese medicine and the therapeutic effect. We hope that we could provide a new rational and scientific method for the study and research of Traditional Chinese medicine. It is the first time that the neural network method was applied in the classification of diagnostic criteria in TCM syndrome. Because the method has so many good characters and the self-classification function, the research results were objective and scientific, In our study, the coronary heart disease medical record, which were experienced by the famous veteran teran doctors of TCM after 1949, were used as our research objective. In fact, this is a retrospective study. All medical record were attentively selective and were standardized preprocessing. According to the basic theory of TBDD (treatment based on differentiation of disease) and allowing for the overlapping between the symptom of CHD and the syndrome in TCM, we sort the diagnostic criteria of CHD into two parts which is DDD (differential diagnosis of diseases) and DSAS (differentiation of symptoms and signs). The criteria of DDD include chest complaint (suffocating, twinge, angina, and vague pain), localized pain; chest distress, cardiopalmus; angina with shoulder and back pain.Using MATLAB6.5 software, all symptoms in the medical record were clustered and instructed by TGSOM method of neural network. The analysis result of TGSOM program showed that the medical records were distributed to different mapping area. Then the amount of medical record and specific record in different area were statistics analyzed. According to the analysis result and the explanation of the medical records and related TCM theory, the type of TCM syndrome and the weight of different syndrome were set up. We set up the diagnostic criteria in TCM syndrome about the coronary heart disease on the basis of the self-organization neural network. The result of syndrome classification suggested that the symptoms of coronary heart disease in this medical record group included such four types as: AYCEP (asthenic yin causingexcessive pyrexia), DHYKY (deficiency of heart-YANG and kidney-YANG), MPCIR (muddy phlegm causing internal resistance) and DVECSB (deficiency of vital energy causing stagnation of blood). The diagnosis criteria of AYCEP included agrypnia, upset, dry mouth, tantrum, night sweet, tired, red tongue, geographic tongue and weak pulses. The diagnosis criteria of DHYKY included feeble of waist a...
