| To study the therapeutic action and mechanism of the prescription Jechangling, which come from the experience of professor Shan Zhaowei treating ulcerative colitis (UC), animal experiment was carried out. We observed many indexes of the rat's experimental ulcerative colitis (EUC) which was induced by local stimulation and immunity methods. The result showed the prescription Jechangling had excellent therapeutic action on UC. It could minimize colon damage score,improve the content of serum protein, ameliorate colon pathologic picture obviously.At the same time,it could decrease the content in serum of immunoglobulin G,circulatory immunocomplex, lipid peroxide and nitric oxide synthase.It also could improve the activity of superoxide dismutase .Its action was superior to the control ,the pill Bupiyichang.
