Objectives:To develop a simplified intensity-modulated technique(sIMRT) with multi-parameter corelated; evaluate its feasibility and advantages, as well as its possibility of simplify the dose verification process; and provide a theoretical basis for its clinic applications.Method:Firstly, select a sample group of tumor patients to make intensity-modulated plans based on DAO(direct aperture optimization) technique with a series of different parameters'constraints, and then worked out a simplified intensity-modulated radiotherapy technique with multi-parameter corelated by analyzing the relationships among different parameters'constraints, and its plan qualities. Then, design espectively three kinds of treatment plans of sIMRT,3DCRT and normal IMRT for another sample group of tumor patients. Finally, evaluate the three plans'qualities and pass ratio of dose verifications. Results:The results show that, compared with the 3DCRT treatment plan, the simplified intensity-modulated radiotherapy improves significantly the plan quality while deteriorating slightly the delivery efficiency; but compared with the normal intensity-modulated radiotherapy, the simplified intensity-modulated radiotherapy improves significantly the plan quality while deteriorating slightly the plan quality. The pass ratio of dose verifications of simplified intensity-modulated radiotherapy is much close to that of 3DCRT treatment plan, and much higher than that of normal intensity-modulated radiotherapy plan. Conclusions:The simplified intensity-modulated radiotherapy technique offers not only both the plan quality and the delivery efficiency, but also simplifies the time-consuming dose verification process compared with the normal intensity-modulated radiotherapy, therefore it can be applied to clinical routine.
