The electric submersible pump (ESP) was a sort of important artificial lift equipment, possess merit of discharge capacity large, head of water high. It was used extensively high production oil well, well contained water, deep well and directional well, it was oil field realize high and stable production' important method.In this paper, firstly, the inflow performance of the different well type, different reservoir conditions and production conditions was studied. Furthermore, the mathematical model of the fluid PVT distribution law in ESP well was established and resolved, which lay foundation for the equipment choosing, system running parameters optimizing and parameter adjusting in the ESP well.Based on study of the inflow performance and analysis of the wellbore fluid PVT, combined the actual conditions in offshore oilfield, the optimal design were proceeded by aiming at system efficiency.The edge detection and image segmentation technology have been used to realize the divide of the electric current curve and the shade in the electric current card, and then analyzed all kinds of electric current's shape feature, we have established the ESP's fault features database. At the same time, the electric current curve has been changed into the electric-time's vibration curve, we analyzed frequency and amplitude from the other point of view to construct and perfect the ESP fault features. Through the statistical analysis, the fault can be diagnosed. It formed the new method that has used the pattern recognition technique to diagnose the ESP's fault.Based on proceeding production analysis for the ESP well, making the ESP be normal or reduce the unreasonable conditions by regulating nipple diameter, intermission production, or changing frequency techniques, which can make ESP and oil well operate with the best status. On the base of wellbore fluid analysis, the math model, which decided the annular air bleeder's reasonable operation rules, has been established, which can guide the oil well production.On base of these theory researches, a set of ESP production expert system software has been successfully programmed. The software integrated system checking, evaluation, optimal design, diagnosis and management as whole. After thesoftware applied to actual production, the actual measurements are accord with the theory analysis results, which has proved the exactness and reliability of the research achievements.
