This paper deals with the systematic studies on the subfamily Cheloninae Nees von Esenbeck of the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera) from China. It comprises two parts, namely general account and systematic account.In the general account,which is divided into six chapters,the taxonomic history, current taxonomic notes, morphology, biology and ecology, phylogeny, prospect for application, and methods for collecting, identifying and preserving the specimens are reviewed.In the systematic account, 6 genera and 157 species are regcognized from China, including 86 new species and 14 species which are recorded for the first time from China. Keys are given to genera and species in this paper. Under each genus, the generic synonym, systematic history and present systematic status, phylogenic relationship, diagnostic characters distribution and biology are reviewed and discussed. All the species treated in this paper are described and illustrated fully except a few species which are not available.After the systematic account, the literature cited in this paper is listed,and 270 SEM photos and 182 figures are also provided.All the type specimens and other material (except mentioned specially) on which this paper is based are deposited in the Beneficial Insects Lab,College of Plant Protection,Fujian Agricultural and Forestory University, Fuzhou, China.
