Mode, Impact Factors, And Efficiency Evaluation For Development Of Circular Agriculture

The topic, development of circular agriculture as an important path to the harmonious and sustainable development of agriculture in China, has gained a consensus, and especially since the promulgation and implementation of circular economy promotion law on January 1,2009 the regional circular agriculture has been developing rapidly. It has been researched by many scholars from the perspective of technology, sustainable development and related policy, and in this thesis it is researched from the perspective of agricultural industry, industrial organization and technology as well as their relations. The paper mainly focuses on the micro level of circular agriculture development, which not only involves the development of a specific region of the circular agriculture, but also refers to the entities, organizations and stakeholders concerned as well as their relations.The paper includes three parts:i.e, theoretical research, empirical research and countermeasure research, which is composed of seven chapters. It includes: introduction; review of the related theory and practice abroad; models of the circular agriculture and perspectives; the practice case analysis of circular agriculture; the impact factors and empirical analysis, the efficiency and evaluation of circular agriculture; conclusions and policy recommendation.The purpose of this paper is mainly three. Firstly, to take Pinghu county of Zhejiang Province as an example, it reveals the process, stage and characteristics of the regional circular agriculture. The second, from the perspective of agricultural industry, industrial organization and the technology of circular agriculture, to reveal the pattern combination, influence factors and efficiency characteristics of circular agriculture. The third is to analyze the efficiency of circular agriculture based on the empirical cases and relevant model, and raises related policy suggestions.The research method of this thesis is to apply the theories and methods of economics and management, such as the external theory, new institutional economics and industrial organization theory. The empirical analysis, the case study and interview for business entities, stakeholders will be included. As to the measurement of impact factors and the efficiency, statistical method, structural equation and energy method have been used.It is that the three key issues relevant to the development of circular agriculture have been studied in this thesis. The first is how to grasp the relation of the circular agricultural system and the various models. The second is what are the main impact factors and the mechanism of the circular agriculture, and the third is about characteristics and discrimination of efficiency on circular agriculture, and government policies.The main research innovation points of this paper are reflected in three aspects:Firstly, the study on the efficiency of the development of circular agriculture was often only from the technical or traditional economic point of view, instead of from the perspective of industrial organization and institution. In this paper, the external theory, new institutional economics and industrial organization theory as well as relevant method has been applied which would be regarded as kind of innovation.Second, most of the previous studies on the circular agriculture were focus on the specific case and rather narrow analysis, and the overall study of the circular agriculture in a certain region was less. In this paper the study for the circular agriculture is based on the statistical data, detail case data combined by sample survey from the county level which would be more significance.Third, most of the previous studies on the development of circular agriculture were qualitative, which had little combination of the quantitative. In this paper, it explores the development patterns and characteristics of circular agriculture in different perspectives such as time, space, industry, organization, technology, and reveals the main impact factors and efficiency of circular agriculture, which has a certain contribution to the development of circular agriculture in China.The shortage and limitation of this paper is that the research is mainly to focus the coastal area such as Pinghu county of Zhejiang province, and therefore the conclusion and recommendation may be only suitable to the similar areas. The other is that although the paper constructs the different combination and discrimination system of the efficiency of circular agriculture based on micro level from the perspective of industry and organization, but it can only obtain the general verification based on the practical case information and data. There are rooms for the further accurate empirical research.
