With the arrival of the era of big data, as one of the important parts of complex information system, digital interface has already replaced the traditional hardware interface and become an important characteristic of modern technology. The digital interface plays an irreplaceable and important role in military, information safety and geography transportation fields. Meanwhile, as the carrier of operators’information analysis and processing, the digital interface is a core part of realization of system function. Under the same level of hardware, the usability of digital interface can influence the work performance, accuracy rate and quick response directly, which influence the system performance levels in a large part. In order to better master the whole system and make which more reliable and efficient, studying the usability evaluation methods of digital interface and the information recognition regulations of users is quite important to the digital interface evaluation and optimization.On the base of analyzing domestic and abroad digital interface usability evaluation theories and research status and summarizing newest research findings on design science, neuroscience, cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience, this paper used the methods of cognitive theory analysis, EEG experiment research and instance validation, and conducted research on brain electrical physiological quantitative evaluation method around digital interface information cognition mechanisms. The main research work was as follows.(1) From the perspective of technology base, characteristic and offline analysis of ERP, application in digital interface design and evaluation based on ERP was raised, and related ERP brain electrical components and experimental paradigms were concluded.(2) For visual elements of digital interface, the usability and user cognition of interface element were analyzed, the relationship between user cognition of visual elements and ERP elements, and then user cognition theory analysis of interface elements such as icons, controls, color, layout and interaction was conducted.(3) For the ERP brain electrical experiment of digital interface element cognition, ERP experiment research process of digital interface usability evaluation was put forward, and deconstruction, processing and collection process of digital interface elements were analyzed. On the basis of interface element cognition theory, working memory experiment paradigm for icon, serial mismatch experiment paradigm for navigation bar, Go-Nogo experiment paradigm for color evaluation were respectively designed for ERP experiment research, guiding significances of experiment conclusion for interface design were concluded.(4) According to brain electric experiments, the ERP evaluation indexes of digital interface elements were summarized, and interface element and EEG signal threshold values analysis was conducted. Based on which, recommendation form of interface design were displayed. The global and local ERP evaluation methods of digital interface were proposed in the first time.(5) In order to verify the validity and reliability of ERP evaluation method, traditional usability evaluation methods of digital interface such as expert subjective knowledge evaluation method, hierarchy-gray-set pair mathematical method, and eye-tracking method were used for specific examples comparison and analysis for ERP evaluation method.(6) At last, the influence of ERP in Brain Computer Interface (BCI) and the reference function and significances on ERP usability evaluation method of digital interface for BCI was proposed. After merging the signal characteristic extraction and classification technology, a kind of interactive method of digital interface being based on icon-ERP control was developed, and realization of other interface elements BCI method was discussed.ERP experimental evaluation method provides new ideas and new methods for evaluating the digital interface usability, which will help the designers to evaluate, improve and optimize the digital interface. The research findings provide important technical means and theory evidence for efficient implementation of the comprehensive evaluation of the digital interface.
