The literature in the Pre-Qin period is attached to the whole history of the Chinese ancient literature education. The elemental principles in the Chinese classic literature education might come out and being mature in Pre-Qin period. The literature education in this period was filled with much various theories and specific characters which is the most essential and emergent to the reconstruction of the modern literature education.The literature education is not as same as the education of literature, but sometimes they were closely entangled with each other. It is said that the beginning of the literature was the first stage of the literature education. As to the importance and significance of those ancient cultures, the research on the Chinese ancient mythos and folk songs is therefore the first topic of my thesis, and form then on, the Chinese literature education were enlightened.This thesis consists of three main sections, namely the preface, the body and the summarization.In the preface, I firstly summarize some causes of my interests on this research, attached with the interpretations of some conceptions.Four chapters make up the body of this thesis. In the first chapter, this thesis focuses on the circumstances of the literature education in the Pre-Qin period with a broad perspective. With the interactions between the natural factors and the social factors, the Chinese culture was on the way to a more brilliant stage. With the popularity of the bronze wares, the productivity of Xia Dynasty was heightened immeasurably, which is the marvelous period in the history of the Chinese civilization. The inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty brought out a faithful historical accounts in the Chinese history. It was just like an irony to the logic itself. The inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells revealed the historical characteristics of the ancient China and its civilization. And the Chinese civilization has a long history standing in this world was successfully confirmed. No one could feel somewhat strange while the formal cultural education was founded in the Zhou dynast. Those might create the brilliances of the literature education in the history of the Pre-Qin period.In the second chapter, with a diachronic perspective, thesis focuses on the various form of the ancient literature education. With the help of this method, the ancient mythos and the folk songs were confirmed as the primary stage of the literature education. The great advantage of this kind of education might lie in that all could be understood clearly without abstract concepts and philosophical ideas. It is reasonable to get the meanings and values of our life. It is lucky for the history to choose the ancient mythos and the folk songs as its helpers, and in the same time, the ancient mythos and the folk songs made the history classical.In the third chapter, this thesis centers on the reconsideration of the Confucian theories which raised by some great Confucians, such as Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi. The aspects of the literature education are characteristic. Educated by those Confucian theories, we would receive a lot and get a high level in many respects, such as in spiritual field, in aesthetical field and in virtual field. Such achievements made the literature education of the Confucian theories into an invaluable heritage that can not be overlooked up to now.In the fourth chapter, the literature education of the Daoism was discussed. The literature education was once deformed by negative factors, such as interests, pragmatism and political power. As for the problems in the practical education, the Daoism was raised as a supplement to keep the disadvantages from the traditional theories. Theoretically speaking, the Daoism was a perfect idea indeed. It provided us with perfect mind, natural attitude, infinite freedom, and universal aesthetics. In season and out of season, it reminded us of the nature of our life. Therefore we should bear in our mind at anytime that the literature education is the education of how to live.In the summarization, some ideas about the construction of the modern education were advanced. Basing on the study of the historical literature education? we should reconsider the traditional methods of the literature education applied in school education, which might contribute much to the modern reconstruction of the literature education.Those in the past always revealed that the solution could be found successfully if we paid enough attention to the history. For this cause, this research on the history of the Chinese ancient literature education is natural and reasonable. Only if we attach much affection, much reconsideration, much criticism, the literature education could be well fulfilled. The reformed values and ideas could be applied to a new life education.
