| Zheng Ming, as a Confucius initiative doctrine, has played a very important role in the history of Chinese thought. In ancient times, Zheng Ming not only started the prelude of the pre-Qin philosophers trend about the discussion of Ming, but also was developed into Ming Jiao spirit and infiltrated all walks of the ConfucianChina. The theory of Zheng Ming has been considered as a path through which Chinese and Western thoughts have been communicated since modern times, thus modern Chinese ideological feature has been recreated by Platonism. On that account, the overall self-examination and reinterpretation is definitely before everything recently.There are three things we have to admit after gathering all the comprehensive understandings of Confucius theory of Zheng Ming. Firstly, certain requirement has to be given to Ming; Secondly, Ming determines Shi. Thirdly, Ming has a meaning of moral practice. The former two respectively correspond with classical interpretation of Ming Yan and Ming Fen, the third one is the result of self-examination of Platonism. Based on this, the historical materials and texts had been analyzed, a conclusion was reached that Ming is Ming Fen in the political and moral sense at pre-Confucius age, and Ming Yan found in the trend of thought is the proper meaning for Ming Fen. Consequently, according to Zheng Ming Chapter, Confucius theory of Zheng Ming emphasize that a man of noble character with his Ming is supposed to say and do things properly, hence, Confucius thoughts is regarded as Ming to Yan (Yi) to Xing, by which Confucius doctrine is studied and recombined, we can see that there is exactly magnificent and delicate thought system here.However, according to the whole structure of Confucius Ming theory, the meaning of Ming has to be cognized from these three aspects, which are Ming Yan, Ming Fen and Ming Sheng, and then, if further and more profound discussion is needed about Ming theory’s argumentation structure, three independent and relevant assertion must be established, which are Ming Ding Shi Bian, Xun Ming Ze Shi and Shi Zhi Ming Gui. The first one relates to Confucius theory of knowledge, the second one involves Confucius theory of morality and politics, and the third one touches upon Confucius conception of history.The key to Confucius epistemology lies in how human beings possess the capability of managing Shi. For this purpose, the concept of Tong Gan has been presented, which believes that Shi is the combination of a prior intuition and sense data. The key to Confucius theory of morality rests in how to understand Ming’s decisive role on Shi. We found the fact that the effect of Ming can make people consider about his Ming Fen and go back to his RenXin, and then the moral decisiveness is inspired, and RenXin is actually a kind of Ethical-Mentality of the combination of Tong Gan and Ming Fen. Confucius theory of politics consists in how to comprehend the transition of ancient and modern politics. We found that the reality that is adaptive to Confucius binary political structure has changed, which enables Confucius political principle of reason to carry through, thereby democratic politics comes into being. Confucius conception of history is how to see through Ming Sheng. So we present the concept of Historical-Mentality to explain how human being’s love of Ming is based on a sense of immortality. In this context, traditional Confucian used MingJiao as a temporary expedient, but we have to know Ming has been used in two levels because of the different views of JunZi and PingMin.Finally, due to the fact that Confucianism had influenced and shaped ancient society mainly in the form of Ming Jiao in Chinese history, we need a systematic combing on the development of Zhengming from the angle of intellectual history; Meanwhile, review and self-criticism should be given upon the formation and transformation of Mingjiao, which is the combination of Zhengming and political power, in the hope of a historical review and judgment on Confucius Zheng ming.
