The project focus on the metabolic changes of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancerand study their abnormal metabolic fetures on the level of animal models and patients byhigh-resolution magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (HRMASNMR). Proton MRS analyze were performed on solid tissue of chronic pancreatitis andpancreatic cancer in vitro in rats, their specific metabolits and metabolic characteristic willbe found out. Also, it will study the relationship between the metabolic changes and thefindings of histopathology, immunohistochemistry in chronic pancreatitis and pancreaticcancer. The metabolic changes of normal pancrease and pancreatic cancer in human werecompared by HRMAS NMR and the relationship between the metabolic changes and thefindings of histopathology were studied. The nude mouse model of human pancreatic cancer was established, and its metabolic changes before and after radiotherapy werestudied, and the relationship between the metabolic changes with curative effect werestudied too. Normal pancrease, chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer in rats could bedifferentiated by their metabolic changes. There were great variability between the normalpancrease and the pancreatic cancer in human. Compared the metabolite characters oftissue before treatment with three different radiation dose, we found a few changes in thethe signal intensities of metabolite. This would be a valuable assistance for clinic diagnosisand assessment of therapeutic response. It is helpful for application of magnetic resonancespectroscopy on pancreatic cancer in vivo and on other organ in vitro. This would be avaluable assistance for clinic diagnosis and assessment of therapeutic response.
